I have ordered everything that I mentioned and will feel at ease just knowing that I have items like this at the ready for whatever emergency may arise. Also good to put some of these items in a bug out bag.
'biohazard tape , sticker & fake blood' , great now I need to spend even more money. Don't forget the orange / red paint for fema x's on your house.

 Quoting: tandym

Wouldn't rush to use the fake blood and biohazard tape. It's normal, I've read, to burn down the houses of Ebola victims, because of the difficulty of properly decontaminating one.

In the USA, we could use MMS (chlorine dioxide) in a tent, as they did in New Orleans to kill black mold in houses after Katrina. The house is tented as if for a termite kill, then the MMS is pumped in from a truck through a big hose and left to sit for a couple days. During a real epidemic, though, it's unlikely such niceties will be available and burning down the house might be seen as an unfortunate but necessary step.

Don't forget the 15year old girl in Nigeria who apparently got it from a neighbor's pet monkey.

This had me wondering if perhaps there was an outbreak of Ebola in the wildlife. The third independent (index) case does indicate that this is now a probability.
 Quoting: Crazy Harriet

Good point! We are really only viewing this from the human aspect, and it is very possible that a wildlife outbreak could be a key factor as to how these epidemics crop up.

Quick search and I did learn this...

(snip)
Four populations of monitored apes are known to have been affected and/or decimated by the virus (chimpanzees of the Tai forest; both apes of the Minkebe forest, Lossi Sanctuary and Lokoué bai). Figures given are alarming as for example, the Lossi outbreaks only, killed about as many gorillas as survive in the entire eastern gorilla species (Gorilla beringei). Yet Lossi represents only a small fraction of the western gorillas killed by E. Zaire in the past decade.

So it looks like the primates actually have their own outbreaks and kill offs, which would effect a population of humans that are in contact/and or eat them. That would lead me to believe that if it died out, it would be gone, unless something is carrying the virus and not dying. Which from the same article...

(snip)
Scientists still doesn't know why and how Ebola virus has emerged so explosively in recent years: is the virus dormant in a natural reservoir – a forest species that could carry the virus without getting deathly ill? Bats have been suspected as such (Leroy et al., 2005).

Is there an outbreak in bats? Could they be carrying it around and not dying?

Could there be a human element, as in someone who is playing with this virus and trying to get a cure/antidote?

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm.

I can only speculate on this said outbreak causes, I have no proof, and of course we as humans just do this.

So far the virus seems to be on course with previous outbreak patterns, but I still think it is important to watch.

The ease of travel today and no longer being a world of many borders, this thing could get out of the region and spread, and/or it could be contained and run its course.

Time will be the factor that will determine that answer, but it doesn't hurt to be mindful of what is going on.

Ebola outbreak: race to find 400 ‘carriers’

(snip)
DOCTORS and health officials are racing to track down almost 400 people who could be spreading one of the world’s deadliest contagious diseases, as the number of confirmed cases across three West African countries rose to 127 yesterday.

Tarik Jasarevic, a spokesman for the World Health Organisation in Guinea, which has borne the brunt of containing the outbreak, said they were trying to trace at least 375 people thought to have had close contact with patients.

So far we have Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone admitting that they have cases of EHF, Rumors of 40 + cases overnight in Conakry alone.
Mali, Nigeria, and Canada have all had people present with Ebola like symptoms but are so far saying that these patients have some other type fever.

And now Liberia is saying that they have a case that is unique from the other cases in the countries that are admitting to an Ebola outbreak.

CDC is sending in a team.

Hmmm

Getting pretty late in West Africa prolly not gonna hear much more today.

I'm going to link an article I wrote in July 2012 about Ebola and certain correlations to other events -
[link to ncrenegade.com]

 Quoting: BattlesightZero

Wow! I had run across and read that page while doing some research for this thread

Hmmm... My jury is out regarding your point that Ebola outbreaks presage other calamities. Ebola unfolds over weeks and months even. There are no months anymore these days without some world class calamity

Your article mentions 9/11 and the financial implosion of 2008. One took place within a few hours -- suddenly -- while the second slowly unfolded without sudden shock over a period of months

Unless or until we have really solid evidence that Ebola is purposefully cooked up and disseminated, I going to have to say it's just Africa being Africa
 Quoting: goodmockingbird

Well I'm sure you've gathered from my other posts that I believe it is cooked up in a lab...at least sometimes. I know for a fact that they have been working with it at Ft. Deetrick, MD since the 1970s. I also know for a fact that the Ebola-Reston incident in 1989 was directly associated with said military research on Ebola. I believe they purposefully imported primates who had been exposed to Ebola in an effort to develop a vaccine for a laboratory-developed version of the virus (EBOV-Reston).

Why were there no deaths from EBOV-Reston? Because they purposefully "tamed" it, as a precursor to attaching a different biologic profile, which would cause other symptoms.

This rabbit hole of bio-weapons research goes very deep, and some of the purposes for it are rather startling. I.E. causing a large population to test positive for a disease (with a tamed version) while only targeting a small subset (such as the leadership/government) of those people with a dangerous version.

It's the ultimate putsch - "everyone got sick, but only the folks in parliament died... must be an act of God" kind of play.

The key here is avoidance of accountability - TPTB will do anything to avoid accountability for the tyranny they inflict, and especially to avoid being caught in their mistakes, such as the coming financial crash.
 Quoting: BattlesightZero

It would seem that a mass worldwide pandemic would require a more lengthy incubation period for the virus and its current level of lethality.

Genetic data indicates Ebola has been around since the dawn of mankind. The fact our species is still here points to the reality it hasn't suddenly evolved in overall lethality.

That being said, if there is a world pandemic, know full well the genetic structure of Ebola was artificially modified and released.

I like that article trying to tie "terrorists" with large wads of cash trying to find Ebola victims for their purposes. Where do many terrorists get wads of cash? Follow the money, past the cut-outs, and to those in suits.

Remember a scant ten years ago Al Qaeda was the boogeyman. Now we have joined arms with them in toppling Middle-eastern governments. We are giving them truckloads of cash to do our bidding. WTF?

Looks to me they are trying to set up some local organizations for the fall if/when this goes pandemic. "It was those extremists who cooked this up - from their cave!" We've heard that one before.

I don't think it will go worldwide, but there is that chance.

You could delete a few exclamation points and periods and thus be able to explain Conakry as Guinea's capital.

I'm sure more than a few people have never heard of it... like me. "Radio Conakry" could be anything, and CKY,, doesn't help if you skip past the radio station's name.

Took me awhile to figure out what this latest update was pointing at.

Ebola virus: the consumption of the recommended onion

An African researcher who is not to reveal the name here told me with conviction that the solution to this would be Ebola onion.

In effect, he must be sick to eat for 3-7 days following recipe: a well crushed or crushed onion, we add a teaspoon of condensed milk and a teaspoon of powdered coffee (Nescafe). Stir the three ingredients and eat the patient.

On those not yet sick to shelter the virus, the same researcher informs me that she must eat every day 1-2 fresh onions.

you need to come into phyiscal contact with a sick person to catch it..

Sounds pretty easy to avoid if you ask me.

Just stock up the bunker and hunker down for a few months.
 Quoting: ThesonofhendriX

Nope. You can catch it from surfaces touched by infected people. Whilst it is certainly easier to avoid catching than an airborne flu-type virus, it isn't easy to avoid, especially if you live in an urban area.

Think about it:
- Public transport
- Shopping
- Money
- Elevators
- Shared computers, phones, ATMs etc. Especially touchscreen things
- Traffic crossing buttons
- Public lavatories
- Swimming pools, changing areas etc.
- Crowds of people with sneezes and coughs

So, yeah, you can take precautions, but if this bad boy gets embedded in highly populated areas then it will be very difficult to stop short of shutting everything down completely.

As far as I understand it the reason that Ebola hasn't been a particular problem thus far is simply that it was, luckily, until now confined to very poor rural areas in Africa, where people mainly travel on foot (or at least very slowly - crappy roads, lack of efficient public transport, lack of private cars). This, coupled with the fact that it is so deadly that it can burn itself out quickly unless it can spread rapidly. I remember hearing several times experts say that if Ebola every made it to the big cities, and more affluent areas - especially to people who travel by air - that we would have a major global problem on our hands.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53990064

Sneezes and Coughs????

Correct me if im wrong but Ebola is NOT an airborne virus.

Yes or No?

Jump from 12 cases to 40...in one day, fuck me! Sounds like that is getting out of hand.

It's hitting the elbow in the curve, brother. Predictable, but not good.

Soon, it's going to have spent enough human bodies to buy a ticket to Europe, the ME, or the US...

YOU, and only YOU are responsible for maintaining the balance of power between you and the rest of the semi-sentient beings in this world. You cannot disclaim or delegate that responsibility; it is a function of being a living, breathing "adult" in this world. If you can't manage yourself on those terms, someone else *will* manage you on their terms. Your terms are irrelevant. Buy a rifle; prepare to defend yourself. If you don't, what happens is *your* fault. Period.

wtf where tf if CKY????

You could delete a few exclamation points and periods and thus be able to explain Conakry as Guinea's capital.

I'm sure more than a few people have never heard of it... like me. "Radio Conakry" could be anything, and CKY,, doesn't help if you skip past the radio station's name.

Took me awhile to figure out what this latest update was pointing at.

Great thread though, thanks for the updates.

Updated the list as per request to show countries, I am holding off on adding the 40 cases today reported on the radio until we can get another source.
