"Microsoft surface fully equipped all bells and whistles"

That thing will sterilize you.

Part of Bill and Melinda Gate's plan.

It's on the Georgia Guidestones.

Ted Turner told me after he dumped Hanoi Jane.

Why on earth would you want to pay that much for something you cannot repair if it breaks? You're just pissing your money away while making Chinese manufacturers rich.
Please dont be a fool and waste your money on this crap!

I've had 2 Nexus tablets and 2 Acer tablets. None have broken. None have failed. Enjoy your bear-skin rugs and flint tools.

Uh, no they're not! IBM sold their pc division to the Chinese. That being Lenovo.

But the Nexus 7 has no microUSB port - so how do you add your own (owned, non-cloud) movies and music to it?

Re: What is the Best Tablet or Pad to Get Started With?
The wife wants an ipad for wireless internet access and looking at real estate.

We've never used an ipad or iphone before and if you consider the competitors, the choices are overwhelming.

What is a good basic pad or tablet?

What is a good affordable wireless service?

Please share your advice.

Thanks,

Sky

Guy I know went to the ATT store and he got
an the big ipad with built in wireless ATT
internet connection, all paid out over 2 year contract.
Shockingly small monthly payments.
He's thrilled.
He also paid extra for insurance that covers pretty
much anything. damage or theft.

OTG cable some of them are splitters so you can continue to charge as well. Here's an example- [link to www.amazon.com]

This one is not split but it will work with a flash drive or you can direct mount a stick drive. For some of it you will have to root and use an app called stick mount to get it to read/transfer the files.

Shouldn't you be buying food preps, ammo, gold??? Tablets won't work after the asteroid, tsunami, economic collapse, zombie apocalypse that is happening in the next month you know. Besides the Internet won't work after the power grid gets taken out by terrorists and/or the massive CME that's coming shortly before/after the first set of DOOM.

I have a Kobo Arc.

Reasonable price: 16gig £70. 32gig £80. 64gig £90.

Runs Jellybean OS. Goggle Chrome.

Very easy to use.

Used every day for about six months so far and no glitches or problems. I am very pleased with it.

I do like my iPad, given to me as a gift and I like the large screen and no need for virus protection. Suits my needs and I've had it over a year no problems.

Lol I was being majorly sarcastic dude.. I've had every iPad version except the 4th version. The New iPad Air is fantastic and I love it. They have all been solid and beautiful products and just work. Largest and best App Store, great performance, largest aftermarket accessories support, great customer support, etc.. Yes they are expensive but I haven't had a single problem with the 4 versions I've owned since it was released.

If apple products are not your thing or are too expensive than do what several other people have suggested. Go to Amazon and research the other devices on the market. It's a great place to get the pulse on products from the many reviews posted.

Re: What is the Best Tablet or Pad to Get Started With?
my advice, get A NookHD+ (around 150.00) And buy A N2A Card.
The card will give you A wide open Android 4.4 OS.
I have a Nook HD+ and I really like it.
Just google N2A.

And if you're not going to go outside of the Play Store, you don't even need the N2A card anymore.

NookHD+ is a fantastic bargain for a 9" tablet. And if you want smaller just get the NookHD 7" - same specs for $130.

Yeah, it's been awhile since Lenovo was an IBM product. That said I have a Lenovo laptop and a Lenovo compact desktop PC and have been super happy with both of them. I got them refurbished at TigerDirect.

Newegg has some buying guide information that might be helpful to you, they explain what the specs are and explain what type would be good for your planned purpose of use.

I tend to lean toward what a poster above said about getting an ultrabook, if I got that right, the ultra slim, ultra light laptops. I think in the long run you would get more bang for your buck and a lot more flexibility. And a real keyboard!

I had a Nexus 7 2013 that I thought was great for taking around with me on the road but I got rid of it when I received an Ipad air 10" for a gift and I hate the Ipad. You have to use Itunes to get anything on it and some media just doesn't play right. I'm not much of an app person, I just want to use it to surf websites and watch movies.
What is the next best thing to a Nexus that also has a memory card slot?
fërú.
