Interesting thread on one of the local sites I visit. Wondered what the world thought.

You can't starve a country that's self-sufficient. We have enough coal to produce all of our electricity for over 200 years. If the U.S. takes over the Bakken Tar Sands from Canada, than they have a near unlimited supply of easily refineable oil. We have more natural gas than the rest of the world combined. We produce enough food to feed ourselves multiple times over. Millions, perhaps over a billion people would starve to death without U.S. food exports. We have all of the ingredients necessary to produce all the weapons we could ever use and we are the leading weapons exporter to the world. The only thing we actually need from the rest of the world (outside of Canada whom we would quickly and easily conquer) are rare earth metals from China which are critical components in many electronics.

No one will win.

I can see why you are asking, but be careful. Sometimes our perception of the world could be a very powerful thing.

I asked, just because. I'm still reading the original 12 page thread that I pulled this from. I don't know much about this stuff and this is a nice way to get a summary.

Now there's two one-star-bandits that aren't from 'merica and didn't bother to chime in.

At no time in history as any nation been this powerful and stayed mostly helpful instead of invasive. Ain't saying 'merica is perfect, just most perfect.

There are no winners in a war, just dead people.

What I meant was..

Sometimes when you talk about things or see things in a certain way. Life has a funny way of making it a reality.

An example would be...

"I'm going to be homeless one day" - You become homeless

"I'm poor" - You will most likely be poor forever with that mindset.

"WWIII is going down!" - Chances are, with people thinking like that.. it will.

"Everyone thinks peacefully" - Everyone will be peaceful.


"If the entire world attacked the usa" - There is a chance with the perception.

"No one attacks anyone" - Peace

I didn't accidentally find the rabbit hole. I guess my curiosity led me in this direction.

It started with Tupac & the word "Illuminati". Then Freemasons & the history of past emperors and leaders of ancients past from many different countries/continents.

Ultimately, this journey has led me to believe none of that matters, besides peace. We all need it very much, this world exhausts you with war/hate/violence.

GLP Effect.. if you believe that, then maybe it's true.

I don't believe in the GLP Effect, so it cancels itself out, right?

If it were true, we would have all nuked each other by now.

Ill rely that to the guy I quoted.

If the world reserve status of U.S.dollar get abandoned, you lose in an instant. No nukes, nothing else needed.

Mexico and Canada pose no significant military threat. Literally the national guard of border states could fend them off if not actually take land.

The world would find it very difficult to ship their militaries here. The US controls the oceans and if all Naval assets were brought back home their strength in the region would be even more concentrated. Not to mention the US could in a year refit all her mothballed fleet which includes several carriers.

Still in the end the world would certainly defeat us. It would just take time. I'd think their best bet would be to land forces in South America and drive them up from there. Though I could see the US invading toward that narrow sliver of land in Central America where all enemy forces could be bottlenecked.

Then there is the issue of nukes. The US would almost certainly use tactical nukes against invaders if all else failed.

In a total war scenario money matters very little.
