Here's an interesting thought.

Obama did not want to wear the American flag pin in the beginning of his campain either. Many suspected this could be because he's a muslim but certain Jews and Christians do not like to wear emblems either.

I'm Jewish and I have an aversion to icons and emblems, especially when used to show allegiance. It's 2 of the 10 commandments afterall, Though shall have no other g-d before me, and Though shall not worship false idols.

Eventually Obama gave in and wore a flag pin because as he put it, something to the effect of if wearing a flag pin makes everyone feel better the work that has to be done is too important to let a thing become a big deal.
