The Beard and it's Purpose for Men

Do you truly believe God Himself cares how you trim your hair? Might it not be the egos of TPTB at the time that try to get you to conform to their beliefs?

Well... he would say that, wouldn't he.

FOUR years ago, I grew the first full beard of my adult life on a whim. I was 41, and it was neither a fashion statement nor a midlife crisis, but it came at a fortuitous time: the style world just happened to be entering the Postmillennial He-Man Beard Epoch.

Older friends looked at me as if I were trying too hard — the same as if I showed up at a high school reunion in leather pants. Friends my age said diplomatically, “I don’t think I could pull off a beard.” Translation: “Neither can you.”

For them, a beard on a grown man seemed like an indicator that he had, to some degree, lost his senses.

Those rogue connotations followed me into the workplace. The modern corporate environment, after all, is fundamentally militaristic in structure. And unless you’re talking Stonewall Jackson, there is nothing military about a beard. To many bosses, a beard is a dangerous sign, like a neck tattoo or a pierced nose, that says, “I am a free spirit, not a team player.”

Yet the buddhist do the opposite and shave their heads and face.

Yet all these claim they are abiding by univrsal law

So of course when YHVH rules a people you see their religious followers with flowing hair and beards, but when the astrological gods rule a people you will see them going through tedious practices to shave their hair with elementary technology. You will also see them tattoo up, another thing banned by YHVH.

How can it be that men that claim enlightenment from God focus on the superficial and the vain as indicative of the virtue of the soul?!

Isn't in fact vain to get rid off the hair that God meant man to have on his face, just to have a youthfull look?

Because it all comes down to a war between two sets of 'gods', the dragon (or astrological gods) vs. Jahweh/YHVH.

The one God demands long hair and beard, the other gods want clean shaven head and beard. Possibly to remove the spiritual power the One God granted men when they do have their beard and hair long.

beards are good for breeding scabies and other vermin. Btw I think it is an attempt to hide true feelings, true face expression. Often the bearded people I met were deceitful and slick.

Only men grow beards. Why look like a girl?

and piss poor hygiene

I tried beard and long hair, separately and together. Neither seemed to make much difference in how well or badly I attracted women. Nothing really changed anything, so it really doesn't matter.

With money - I could get money either way.

In society, it really doesn't matter. You can always get paid, but not laid.

Get your beard on

Back in February, I was very blessed to have the Huffington Post run my piece, “Get Your Beard On: A Call to Untrimmed Spirituality in a Clean-Shaven World.” It’s a playful allegory, an invitation to believe...better.
