While I have a very low opinion of CNN, this heading is actually a bit correct - the airframe is aerodynamically designed to fly straight and level, and the autopilot is constantly making adjustments to help that at the chosen altitude/speed/direction. With the loss of thrust, the autopilot must now put more extreme changes to the elevators/ailerons to make up for this. This would result in nose up and soon a stall. It will nose dive, pick up speed, and go through it all again and again until it impacts.

While it is great fun to make fun of folks, legitimately, let us not at the same time be stupid.
