Tell it like it is, and don't use wimpy words. Tyrants in the past have been masters of language. The Soviet Union was particularly adept at changing the meaning of words and phrases - which is a kind of lying. Like the "Affordable Health Care Act" - which is going to raise your insurance rates 2 to 3X what you are paying now. "Gun Control" "Pro Choice" "Social Security" - all these are used to blanket over Truth. Saying a cop killed someone, when it actually was murder under the color of authority, perpetuates a lie. The cop coldly murdered someone. That someone had a mother and father. That nobody may have had sisters, brothers, a wife and children. All will bear the pain of that someone snatched from their lives by a murderous cop. And what of the cop? He gets a paid vacation, a Union payment to ease his "emotional suffering", and most likely, his job back when the population has forgotten of his felony. |

Cops are no more honest than the average person, and frequently less so. Do you need to be victimized by one to believe this?? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10226091 United States 03/28/2014 09:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Agreed. Words are very powerful. I also think that it is important to identify them as "rogue" cops. There is a bond among cops that these murderers are hiding behind. When the decent cops realize that the rogues are endangering their lives, hopefully the bond will become more conscious. |

I've been getting the sense that good cops are becoming a small minority - from my infrequent dealings with them. To protect myself, I always have a digital pocket recorder in my sun visor - running - and usually, video as well. Every car I own has a recorder in it. I make sure to test it every time I go out on long trips. |

And in New Mexico the cops get paid $500 when they kill someone, for their pain and suffering. That's an incentive, like a bounty for each carcass you bring in. |

Quoting: Korats01 Exactly! Who needs courtrooms, judges, juries, lawyers. What a waste of money and time when all you need are cops roaming the streets and shooting anyone that's not behaving right. Violent crime is actually lower than 20 years ago, yet the cops are getting far more evil and violent themselves. Innocent people are more armed then the used to be, and cops must take great offense to that. In addition, a string of bad Supreme Court rulings and shows like "24" drive them to being petty tyrants. |

I thought the United Auto Worker's Union was bad for America... until I discovered these police unions! These organizations work completely against the Public's best interest and shield rogue cops from justice. And pay for every civilian they plug while wearing a cop costume! |

I think a lot of towns and cities could really scale back the size of their police forces and be just as well off crime-wise. Sometimes it seems like the cops are much more violent and evil than the population they are serving and it makes an uneasy situation in the town. |

Rarely do you read that a cop murdered someone... always it was a killing, and almost always gets judged by internal affairs as justified homicide! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55365903 I don't get it? Very rarely do cops get into "horrendous gun battles" More likely they pull some person over, that individual reaches for a wallet or glove compartment, and BANG! BANG! BANG! as the cop unloads his magazine into them. Now it's time to learn a new phrase: "Throw Gun." Noun. An anonymous pistol carried by police in the trunk of their cruiser to toss on someone they murdered but wasn't carrying a weapon. |
