NBC write up about this flare

[link to www.nbcnews.com]

They didn't mention velocity.

Solar Ham and Spaceweather have both ignored the velocity.

Why wouldn't they mention it???

Excellent, pertinent question.

This is all very odd
 Quoting: TheTruthMonger

it'll probably take them two years and a special committee to determine that 4508 km/s is greater than 2930 km/s

like this 2014 article NASA did about the 2012 flare

[link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov]

I'm guessing the reason Solar Ham and Spaceweather haven't mentioned anything is because it isn't "official" yet

Just barely an X class, I wonder if this will help tip the Cali fault zone into the Big One........Earth directed?

Bad flares give me headaches and make me feel nauseous and dizzy. This one was an intense one, more intense than I've felt in a long time. I'd say watch CA for more quakes.

Re: X-flare!! Hurls CME travelling at 2800 miles per second, fastest ever recorded
You obviously don't remember the days on SOHO and Stereo when they said the satellites were between receiving stations on earth and when the next images would appear when the next receiving station was operable. I wish they had not taken that away, because since then people think its a conspiracy when the images are not posted. It is not a conspiracy.

bs.

I remember back in 2011, that whenever there was a CME it would be on C2 15 minutes later.

nowadays there are ALWAYS gaps, and you're lucky if you get any info at all.

the gaps etc. began about mid 2012 and it's been that way ever since.

good catch RR, but what do you think they are trying to hide? anything in the missing frames that's conspiracy worthy?

if you go to the big thread

Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily) (Page 2379)

Hugh explains it.

CACTus shows the CME@ 537 km/s.

the SEEDS movie seems to verify it

[link to spaceweather.gmu.edu]

the SEEDS movie for the entire day shows no missing frames, not sure if SOHO has added the missing ones yet.

I posted a video on that page where SIC associated the high velocity with the CME, so I'm not 100% sure the 537 km/s is correct, but it probably is since there was no proton storm.

re: missing frames

they do usually add those back in but the time lag seems much greater then it used to be. In some cases I think missing frames can be attributed to UFO's/anomalies but this doesn't apply in this case since there are no missing frames
