Why did Jesus mention great earthquakes as a major feature of the "Last Days"? Do you believe we're seeing this fulfilled?

Satan is at the cause of a lot of the other features of the sign of the Last Days, like war, and famine, but could it be said he causes earthquake's?

Yes, along with Israel becoming a nation once again...

and the gospel being shared on every continent...

and so many more signs!

What do you suppose the cause of the earthquakes though?

I mean, why did Jesus single out earthquakes and not tornado's or hurricane's etc.?

What is interesting, is that I heard that the USA is not mentioned in the last days as a major power. Meaning, something will happen to us. The ones remaining in the US maybe link up with Canada and Mexico? I heard this explained. I don't have a link (sorry).

I have been watching earthquakes daily for last 4 years. I would say yes. They are getting more extreme in every sense.

back then they don't know what else to call it, maybe Jesus was talking about fracking, or bunker construction projects, or artillery exercise. anything has enough power can be ’earthquakes’.

They had earthquakes in Bible times, when Christ was put to death there was one:

Yes, he even said I will be with you to the end of the age. But everything runs in cycles and its not hard to predict the ending of a cycle, for on each cycle there are signs of its coming. This would not be the first ending of a cycle as there have been many. The fall of egypt, the fall of rome, Sumeria etc. Yes, for all intents and purpose we are at the end of an age, Just as in the time of Moses it was the ending of the age of Tarus and worship of the Bull, which is followed by Aries hence we find the rams horn the symbol representing his time, on to Jesus, the fish, symbol for pisces. The Sun of God transiting through the sign. One level of understanding but not the only one.

Jesus was speaking about the last days of Satan's rule, before God's Kingdom would reign over the earth, we are living in that time period
