The roads can't possibly handle EVERYONE driving at the same time. So unless you leave 2 hours BEFORE the eruption begins...it's a moot point. |

Huge fight with husband please give input! If you have time to get tot the southern hemisphere that is you best chance to survive. However, if you don't have a place to set up shop there you will probably be destroyed by locals. In that case, head into the jet stream. But you'll probably be dead before too long. If the eruption clouds out the then sun everyone dies. The lucky ones go quickly. The unlucky ones run around getting sicker every moment, watching the world die. |

Huge fight with husband please give input! The locals, who are having a hard time surviving already, will NOT take kindly to a bunch of Gringo's showing up and wanting their food, shelter etc.. Gangs run rampant and are WELL ORGANIZED in almost all Central and South American countries and they already are willing to kill regularly OTHER LOCALS who get in their way. You think they will take kindly to a bunch of gringo's showing up on their doorstep? Unless you are ALREADY ESTABLISHED in South America (own land, live there at least part of the year, know the locals and interact with them already) you WILL BECOME SOIL FERTILIZER rather quickly. The reality is that Yellowstone is less likely to blow in your lifetime than you are to be hit TWICE by lighting in different storms but during the same year. |

I prefer the 38th parallel myself, since it is 19 + 19. -The Nobody. |

The atmospheric cloud will affect the entire planet. Why would anyone want to survive? We are all going to die someday, death via Yellowstone would be quite awesome. I'd run towards the fucker. |

The Yellowstone area is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I can't imagine abandoning ship when she blows. No one will get out of that area, no matter how good your plans are. Make your home comfortable and get right with God and the people you love. Enjoy the process of death... its only the be ginning. |

Not that I expect help from US government during a catastrophe. HELP! I need your .02 worth! What is your opinion? YOU MUST GO SOUTH... THERE IS NO OPTION probability suggests that a not only are we on the edge of a coming ice age, buta super volcano erruption will cause a MASSIVE GLACIAL WINTER - food will be gone - it could trigger a global climate restart this is when the earth reboots it ecological and eviromental systems. the only places that are habitable during the ice ages are along the very near of the equator. if you head north west you will be good for the very short term and eventually have to move south anyway. LET ME tell you where to be. UTAH COUNTY Why you might ask when shit hits the fan, lawlessness ussually will only set in when the food is gone. well these reglitards have tons of food in the basement. most to the homes in this valley have so much food, NO ONE WILL GO HUNGRY. that is how the LDS church does things, they have so much food in the valley and plenty of room to grow, plus utah county is on the cusp of explosion potential if the volcano goes epic. you can always exit south through utah, I feel for these people, that's where everyone is going to be looking for food. |

Huge fight with husband please give input! And right past Sarah Palin and into non-radioactive Russia. Might I suggest a blimp, because overland is going to take WAYYY too long and the air quality is going to be very crappy at ground level, even to decent heights for several generations. Moreover, plane engines die quickly in heavy ash, which is why they had to cancel all flights over Europe when Iceland's volcano recently erupted. Once you get to Siberia by blimp and out of the direct death cloud of ash, you have about 3-5 days to get yourself to the southern hemisphere. If you hurry and have fistfuls of cash, you can charter a private jet to whisk you south, if all the pilots in the northern hemisphere haven't already buggered out to save their own skins, as well as those of their own families. Stick to just a few degrees below the equator as, eventually, the massive atmospheric cover of ash will make the entire planet cool and fall into a global ice age. The equator region is the only area that will not be covered in ice. This is NOT to say that it will remain warm. It is simply the only area that will not be covered in perma-ice more than a mile thick. Thus, can you and you spouse STFU about the "best" way to bug out of a Yellowstone when a massive caldera explosion occurs. You will both be toast, period. |

Huge fight with husband please give input! 1000x above normal Helium Gas releases are a sure sign something really big is up with Yellowstone...not saying it will erupt but ...in any other volcano it would be a sure sign of it...and 1000x the normal amount of gas release? That would be about fitting for the type of eruption Yellowstone could deliver..at least 1000x more powerful than any normal volcano around those parts, the continued uplift in that area is also a good sign of up and coming trouble... 1) Vertical Ground Displacement as well as horizontal 2) Gas emissions of Helium 1000x the normal level. 3) Earthquake swarms getting more frequent and larger. 4) Cracks forming in ground surface. I don't know about you..but this all looks pretty convincing to me that Yellowstone is getting ready to do something big.. |
