Sorry to be harping on about the "micro-volts" thing guy's, but I think it's quite important. If we can compare apples with apples regarding the seizo's we can more accurately see where the epicentre of a shake really was. In the example of E.M.'s 3.8 on the 3rd, we can easily see it came from the direction somewhere outside of Moose Creek. Irrespective of what USGS "reports", we can confirm if thier report is resonably accurate as to location of the quake, and even if they don't report it at all, but we see it on the seiso's, we would be able to determine the approximate area, if it originates in Yellowstone, that it occured in.

they do it with all seismos that are being watched by the woos.

Ah...well if that's the case - AND if the "reported" sensitivity at the bottom of the chart has nothing to do with the actual sensitivity the thing is set to - then we are royally fucked. We are then able to extract precious little, if any, useful info from the instrumentation, bar trying to determine if what we see is actually harmonics, breaking, magma movements etc.......

No, no E.M. - I know it looks like it, but it's very misleading, it WASN'T felt especially hard at Madison River, that's what I was trying to explain in the long post's on the other thread.

"Now Maddison River is set to 125 uV, and the shake was well into "clipping" at 5 divisions, so best we can see is 625 uV, but since it was so heavily clipped, the shake was way more than 625 - my guess? Around a 1000 uV."

It was felt hardest at Moose Creek, which is set to 1,600 uV, and the shake was 5 divisions = 8000 uV

so that shake was felt at least 8 times stronger at Moose Creek than it was at Maddison River - even though the graphs appear to show otherwise.

The size of the shake depicted on the chart is NOT relative to the actual size of the shake. One has got to multiply the number of vertical divisions with the sensitivity setting, which is shown at the very bottom of the chart for each seismo, to get the reading in micro-volts, then comparison is one for one.

Hope this helps us now when looking at the charts....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24889765

Yes, by setting the micro-volts at different levels, the visual images that we see are comparing apples and oranges.

The next action for the USGS to keep us in the dark is either to (falsely) show that all of the micro-volt settings are the same, or to simply stop displaying the micro-volts at all.

These are fractures with harmonic magma intrusion, a prelude to an eruption, according to this report on youtube: [link to www.youtube.com (secure)]
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44325972

As I have stated in the past... the magma is moving. it is slowly rising upward and putting pressure on the the water chamber that is located under the geysers.
 Quoting: Elfsong

While I don't question that magma is moving, the trace in Mayfield occurred seconds after the 3.8 in Challis, Idaho.

[link to www.globalincidentmap.com]

This is how it registered in Missoula Montana [link to mbmgquake.mtech.edu]

It was a widespread event for a 3.8, most likely causing a bit of rearranging and jostling in the park, while felt especially hard at Madison River [link to www.seis.utah.edu]

I hope the cam is fixed by tomorrow...and hope it's still mounted to the tree! It was crazy shaking today.

I guess I need a day studying why they have these variations!

Is there an easy answer as to why they are calibrated so differently?

Under "normal" conditions, the sensitivity would be set just high enough so that back-ground noise only just shows. That means that anything above background would register, if set way too high, then one wouldn't see any changes unless they were real big. They will be set differently, since back-ground noise will be different in each location. Certain ones could be set really high if one isn't particularly interested in everything thats going on, but only wants to see specifically big events that one is expecting. So, under normal conditions I would expect different settings, but they shouldn't keep changing. Am busy trying to track down dates when settings were changed to see how frequent changes really are, and possibly the reason for the change. Am posting on the other thread....

O.K., here is what the sensitivity settings do in real pictures.

This is Pitchstone Plateau on the October 19th 2009, when it was set at 50 uV per division.

[link to www.isthisthingon.org]

and this is Pitchstone the next day when it was changed to 800 uV per division overnight.

[link to www.isthisthingon.org]

The sensitivity settings must be logrithmic or something, because working on a linear thing, this equates to a 16 times reduction in the size of shakes we would see. Doubt the boff's would decrease the sensitivity THAT much in one go to reduce back ground noise, so either I am wrong, or the boff's are not even looking at these same seiso's us sheeple are being fed.

Looks very much to me like some harmonics looking stuff was happening on the 19th, and the change in sensitivity got rid af that sharpish for the 20th onwards......

Re: YELLOWSTONE UPDATES (2014) : ... Strange things happening @ Yellowstone...
Let me make this easier for everyone scratching their heads about the strange pulses. I wasn't convinced before, but after having spent far too much time watching timelapses, certain 'big picture' patterns have emerged and are now recurring.

I'm talking about the weather patterns, the chemtrails, and the webcam warping.

Most of these seismic anomalies are HAARP pulses. You can't tell this by looking at seismos alone.

You have to watch the cams because the pulsing is coming from the sky.

The webcam effect of warping every mountain in sight, far and near? That is now showing up in timelapses at Mt. Washburn. The two cams at Mt. Washburn are looking far into the distance in nearly opposite directions...

If you watch these videos from yesterday on each webcam, you see the same incredible warping occurring for what LOOKS like many dozens of miles. Which is impossible.

Want to see the chemtrails?

Yesterday (3 May), at Electric Peak:

Summary points of the above 3 videos:

1. Impossible visual warping of the mountains for dozens of miles in two opposite directions, over Mt. Washburn.

2. HUGE chemtrails over Electric Peak, resulting in bizarre glowing clouds spontaneously condensing into existence and disappearing as suddenly. Once the chemtrail grid is sufficient, a thin cloud layer begins bursting with brilliant over-exposed light pulses while smaller puffs appear/disappear at the same time as these pulses.

Conclusions so far:

Now we might know why HAARP has been 'abandoned'. It is most likely being used at full power, right here in Yellowstone.

Remaining questions:

Are they using the chemtrail + HAARP combo to cool the Beast? Calm it down pre-emptively before it boils to eruption point below?

Considering the temperatures at Tantalus Creek at Norris have skyrocketed for three days from May 1st to May 3rd, but are now NORMAL again... I would say it's absolutely possible that this is the intended effect of the chemtrailing and atmospheric energy manipulation.

[link to waterdata.usgs.gov]

If they are in fact using it to explode the damn thing, well, I hope someone powerful in America figures that out soon...

This message brought to you by Timelapse Guy. Please don't ask me questions about how any of the above works. I simply don't know yet, though I am in research mode and I will update with new insights as they come.

Truthfully, that is a good question. Since my Hubby is a geologist, and has told me that things do happen, but not in the time line that others would expect.
Do I think Yellowstone is going to blow? Sort of. I think that the northern area is going to erupt with something, and then like a Tupperware dish, it is going to burp, then roll over and go back to sleep for a while.
How long will it take before it blows? that is another good question. Hubby has canceled our trip to CO this year, and told me to look to CA. I am figuring that something is going to happen between 7 months to a year. (in Geologist's tems... that can be at any time.) Geologist have a weird sense of time. To them, a reasonable short amount of time can be anywhere from 1 year to 5 years. A standard set of time can be around 1,000 years. And this is why he drives me nuts.

So, I am planning taking a coast to coast drive with family starting in the next ~50 hours. We are 100% stopping by Yellowstone for 2 days to sightsee - So, I will be in the Yellowstone area next week Wednesday-Sunday, given any 2 days combination (most likely will be Wed+thurs given previous travel times) -

That said, we will be bringing 1 Canon 5D MKII DSLR camera with several professional grade lenses for shooting in all sorts of conditions and distances, and 1 GoPro Black edition - given the activity\uptick currently going on there, do any of you here want on site, high res pictures of areas you might not be able to get\easily see online? No, I am not going trekking 2 miles to take a picture of a lake, but if you give me co-ords or a description of the area\known landmarks, and a target, I will gladly search for a shot when there.

Re: YELLOWSTONE UPDATES (2014) : ... Strange things happening @ Yellowstone...

Morning All!

I see that GLP is still under attack! I have been tryint to post this for about one hour!

Anyhoo, as per now the live cam is still out...thus, so is the still cam for Upper Falls.

But, all looks well as per the still at Old Faithful, and the still looking South from Mount Washburn...as do all other available cams. Biscuit is still down.

I will say that for early morning, the still at Old Faithful looks very quiet -as in 'I do not see steam drifting into view from anywhere else' --yet, that does seem pretty normal with that cam focused so tightly on that geyser alone.

The temp at the moment is 35°F with the lightest breeze, while the forecast after lunch, and going into tomorrow, does call for some rian and storms...maybe even some snow by Tuesday.

Today Isolated showers between noon and 1pm, then isolated showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a southwest wind 13 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight A slight chance of rain showers before midnight, then scattered snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Breezy, with a southwest wind 16 to 21 mph becoming west 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday Scattered rain and snow showers before noon, then rain showers likely. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. North wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

The quake seen around 9:28:30 UTC in park helicorders was recorded the earliest at Denny Creek.
[link to www.seis.utah.edu]

I believe this is closest to the epicenter...where ever it was.

The next three closest were Hegben Lake to the north, and both West Boundary and Moose Creek to the south.

This was also recorded two minutes or later outside the park, at Newport, Washington: [link to mbmgquake.mtech.edu]

and at Lewis and Clark Caverns in Montana [link to mbmgquake.mtech.edu]

as well as at Mayfield, Idaho, which I am adding because others have looked at traces there in recent weeks [link to mbmgquake.mtech.edu]

I see no quake recorded for Challis, Idaho at this time, nor anywhere else in the world...so this is why I am thinking that the area around Denny Creek is where this quake occurred.

Interestingly enough, once again -as at Denny Creek-- the traces show those clips or pops or electrical signals on a rather constant and what looks like a continuing basis, like clockwork...but, not in all areas, such as Hegben Lake.

I am including the earthquake trace for Maple Creek, solely because it looks rather unusual when seen against the others: [link to www.seis.utah.edu] Just a vertical line.

One might mention to look at the difference on the microvolts, which I have. It is the same as at Norris River and Mommouth Vault, which traced the quake much differently
[link to www.seis.utah.edu] [link to www.seis.utah.edu]

Anyway, as I do not have access to Idaho helicorders near Challis, I can't even begin to guess where that quake originated, but it was recorded at Denny first. I will look elsewhere, now.

Okay! On with the day....

UPDATE:

The quake was recorded South of Yellowstone very soon after Denny [i/] at Flagg Ranch, WY [link to www.seis.utah.edu]

And, was felt to the South in a good number of places, including at:
Indian Meadows, Grand Teton Park: [link to www.seis.utah.edu]

Black Mountain, UT [link to www.quake.utah.edu] around the Great Salt Lake, and down to Utah’s SW corner.

As I mentioned, the USGS had not noted any quakes around the same time prior to my writing this.

Awesome! If it blows when you're there, well, we've all got to go sometime and what a spectacular way to go that would be! Seriously though, hope you have a good time :)

Re: YELLOWSTONE UPDATES (2014) : ... Strange things happening @ Yellowstone...
Well, I found out who is using HAARP at the moment.

DARPA.

[link to www.arrl.org]

"The only bright spot on HAARP’s horizon right now is that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is expected on site as a client to finish up some research this fall and winter. DARPA has nearly $8.8 million in its FY 14 budget plan to research “physical aspects of natural phenomena such as magnetospheric sub-storms, fire, lightning and geo-physical phenomena.”

From another article from April 11, 2014:

[link to www.arrl.org]

"The news account cites an Air Force spokesman as saying that final research experiments funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) are set to wrap up next month."

----

Good job, America! Let the Mad Scientist Squad (alias DARPA) loose on your weather systems with no oversight and you get... TORNADOES! EVERYWHERE!

And chemtrailing + HAARP experiments over a supervolcano. Because science. It's going to be an interesting month as DARPA 'wraps up' their weather bastardization experiments.

By the way, someone in Jackson Hole has been personally filming these geo-engineering experiments since August 8, 2013:
