Well with 150+ countries in the world, we all know that the current system can't sustain 7+ billion people without a common and united focus forever. What if whole countries be destroyed due to natural disasters? Some country needs to take the refugees in. Besides, all countries are dependent on each other for trade of resources that they need, so we all need each other. Those who can't see that deserve to be taken off this planet by ETs and be dumped off to a negative ET civilization and see an example of the most extreme kind of racist and anti-peace and anti-harmony behavior.

If an "alien invasion" occurs, and there is actually news coverage of it, and humans are actually "fighting" and standing their ground, and the invasion and fighting go passed 2 days, THEN IT ISN'T ALIENS.

Real aliens, if they came to fight, would ANNIHILATE us in less than 24 hours. Nukes would be a joke to use, because if you're spacecraft can travel the treacherous boundries of, well, ANYWHERE in outter space, then atomic fusion and radiation outside of your mothership would just be a large cockroach hitting the windshield instead of a mosquito.

Actually I saw a show once about how the USA military actually does faux alien invasion scenarios for a war game..

Basically the "game" has the opposing side with a cranked up difficulty setting, with ultra superior weapons and shielding, and earth loses the war in about 18 hours.

If aliens of that calliber ever came, our only chance for survival would be to become insurgent pests - learning about the invaders from the distance and trying to literally ANNOY them into leaving our planet. Seriously. We would have to annoy them till they're just like "K pack up the camper, these mosquitoes and this camp site is gay".

They postulated though that if any "alien" craft ever arrived at our world, that it would likely be a robot, and not actually have any aliens in it.

Look at us? Did we fly some people to mars first or did we send some robots there?

ALSO, the galaxy has an abundance of water, metals, gases, and other resources on dead barren worlds or asteroid belts, that if aliens DID invade earth, they would be here to harvest, probably, our bodies... and plants, and dirt, and animals. Basically organic material for their own consumption - to be used as fertilizers for their crops or whatever the hell they may eat.

And again, the thing that would be doing all this would probably be a drone/ship/robot they would send to harvest us, not the aliens themselves. Since it would be a robot, there would be the chance we could covertly and insurgently cause, say, the organic harvesting machines to blow up. If we destroyed enough of them the artificial intelligence on the mother ship would be like "Loses unacceptable. Lets go to that other planet a few solar systems away, so we do not continue to fail being productive"
