Here is another test for you:

You are in a room alone with an infant and a pillow.
A voice comes over a loudspeaker and tells you that this baby will grow up to become Adolf Hitler. This voice gives you all the compelling evidence you need to trust that this statement is completely true.
Would you then save the lives of millions by suffocating the child with the pillow?

Having watched the video I purpose that anyone who would even consider the idea of chucking the fat guy onto the tracks is a psychopath.

If you didn't know what kind of life the fat guy lived before this scenario, would you hesitate to push him off. But the moment you are told he is a bad person, you are more than willing to shove him off and kill him.

And as for a cute baby Hitler.

Maybe physical beauty would play a part in your decision making if you were forced to push off a good looking person rather than a fat guy. Would you fall for the seductive charm and watch the five die?

What does it mean if I don't think a single large man is capable of stopping a speeding train from hitting a family of five not much farther down the tracks?

In scenario one, If I flip the switch, the train will be diverted from the family of five, thus guaranteeing their safety. The man who is alone on the other track is more than likely trying to commit suicide anyway. The odds that 2 different parties are stranded on either side of a fork in the tracks within my viewing distance are pretty low. So Its an easier pill to swallow that the lonely guy is trying to end it and if I hadn't come along...well...he'd have been frustrated.

In Scenario two, The large man is completely removed from the situation. He is a passer-by. I don't even think his body mass is capable of stopping that train. I get it...big dude...He's probably black. I ain't committing no hate crime in the name of psychology

Gonna have to watch that show sometime, I have heard of it…

What if the fat guy you just tossed over the bridge was a genius and the five standing on a track with a train barreling at them were suicidal wanting to die?

I would go back in time and tie the dickhead who invented this stupid contrived jerk~around story to the front of the train. Thusly he would die before we had to listen to it.

It is hard to say but it is a fair guess that what ever the difference you will either owe the tax on it or have to pay the Alternative Minium Tax - which ever is more.

If the fat guy is such a genius he would understand his dietary intake. That being said I think the fat guy is suicidal because he's killing himself by being fat.

I watched the whole series over the last month, and it's pretty good, but the level of profanity started to bore me.

It's like the scriptwriters were given a quota of how many "fucks", "cocksuckers" and "cunts" they had to include in the script at a minimum.

I'm watching season 3 of "Boardwalk Empire" now, and it's far superior.

HELL NO. Not my decision to make and whoever is on the loudspeaker is most likely lying. One thing you learn if your smart is that people lie and 'evidence' can only be trusted if you gather it yourself.Besides, who is to say Adolph Hitler deserved to be murdered as a baby?

No way I'd push the fat guy. In the first scenario the deaths of both groups are inevitable without you engaging, 2nd scenario the fat guy is an innocent bystander who you choose to put in danger in order to play God.

That very thinking has driven the most brutal government regimes in history.

We don't know what's best when it comes to these things. We are not meant to play God and try to create a perfect and fair utopia at the expense of innocent lives, it doesn't work that way.

It's simple spiritual wisdom.
