While I sympathize with this guy and I think the BLM is just another method of control, it is not his land and he guy did not pay his fees.

Doesnt matter if he is right or wrong, once the govt has its hooks into anything, you have no freedom or power and you will lose 99% of the time. Also doesnt matter that he has been on the place since the 1800s, when the govt decides you have to go, you will go.

Look at the EPA. More people have lost land battles with the EPA than anything else. I remember the time that you could do anything you wanted to on your own land, but you sure better not fill in a wet land for any reason.

How about the IRS, another heartless part of the govt.
Dont pay your taxes for 20 years and guess what happens.

I dont agree with the way BLM is handling it and I think the violence is ridiculous and will probably end up in bloodshed but I think Bundy should have handled this in a different manner and not let it go on this long.

I do actually think this is a test, IE TPTB waited for all the perfect conditions to measure a response from the public to run off Bundy, similar to the Katrina marshall law test.

No, he stopped paying BLM because they were using the fees against him to take his land away like they did to the other 53 ranchers they shut down!

Here it from a rancher who paid the fees and still had his ranch shut down by BLM

Bundy stopped paying grazing fees of about $1.35 a month per cow-calf pair in 1993, ignored the government's cancellation of his leases and defied federal court orders to remove his cattle, according to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. But it took more than 20 years for the government to forcefully intervene.

so if I have to pay my taxes so should that tight arsed rancher.
FUCK HIM
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56721346

STFU jackass Aussie, read and f-in learn something!:

(thanks to a poster from another thread)

I keep hearing "Bundy just doesn't want to pay his range fees!"

You guys don't even know what a "range fee" is. So STFU and read.

First off, realize this: land had different value. There are "surface rights", "mineral rights", "egress rights", "water rights", and there are "GRAZING RIGHTS".

No, Bundy does not own the land. He *OWNS* the grazing rights. He purchased it from his father who purchased it from his father who purchased it from either the Fed. Gov. or Nevada.

Range fees are not fees that you have to pay to allow your cattle to wander around and eat. They are fees you pay so that the BLM will help you improve the area with roads, water resources, etc.

In the last 20 years the BLM has attempted to make the range fees mandatory. If they are allowed to do this, then the grazing rights that Bundy lawfully owns will mean nothing. They will have been effectively stolen from him.

The BLM is attempting to stop cattle ranchers because sniveling greedy twits would rather get massive kickbacks from Chinese energy companies to put solar cells out there. Cows and solar cells don't mix. But, that is opinion, not fact.

Back to the facts.

The BLM have not used the range fees to help the ranchers improve the land. Instead, they used the fees to close the public lands, buy out their grazing rights (for pennies on the dollar since they closed the lands and the rights were then worthless) and kept them out of public lands.

Its all a longer term plan to keep the ranchers off the public lands. The turtle bullshit is a guise to attempt to more "officially" close the lands because they want them for purposes that will actually be much more environmentally dangerous.

So, they've run out all the other ranchers just by saying: "We're closing the lands. Your grazing rights mean nothing." They hand little resistance. Until, Clive Bundy. Clive thinks that, since he has grazing rights, he should be able to graze.

Back to the range fees: The range fees basically were a contract between the rancher and the BLM. In Bundy's case, the BLM simply used the range fees to fund lawers to attemp to unlawfully revoke his grazing rights. He basically said, "You're Fired! I don't need you and you're working against me." ...and financed the improvements himself. (Improvements, that, BTW, the crooked Bastard Land Mismanagers are vandalizing.)

Now, all you shills that have been pushing this bullshit about "He doesn't own the land..." The fact is, he does and he doesn't. Since his grazing rights pre-empt the BLM's illegitimate claim that he must pay to graze, they trump it. They are simply out of gas, legally.

So, you shills can go on and on, but, you look embarrassingly stupid in the face of the real fact.

Get a clue before you post. He owns the grazing rights. The BLM is blocking those grazing rights. They are stealing his property that he paid for, and is lawfully documented. Stop showing your ignorance! The fact is, he *NEVER* had to pay the range fees since he had grazing rights. The other ranchers may have had to pay the range fees because they didn't *OWN* their grazing rights and, effectively, leased the grazing rights from the BLM.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16213727

What also needs to be added is that Harry Reid's son is behind a plan to lease the land to a Chinese solar energy company on Bundy's grazing land and they don't want the cattle there. The mineral rights have also been leased out and they don't want the cattle there. Plus, they want Bundy's personal land to sell to developers because of a new exit road they want to build. Take away Bundy's livelihood (his cattle) and he can't pay his bills and they will also take the land he owns and his family is lost. This is way beyond what the mainstream media is saying.

This is happening to cattle ranchers everywhere. Here in Oregon it is the BLM and the USFS shutting down grazing rights from the forests and the public lands. One rancher I know personally, got his forest grazing rights taken away every time he went to renew he had less and less land to graze so he gave up, there wasn't enough permitted land available to graze.

So people you gotta ask yourself, where do you think your goddamn food is going to come from? Run our agricultural producers off their land and you'll be dependent upon foreign countries just like oil. He who controls the food controls the people. Get real. This isn't about Bundy this is about the American people's right to raise their own food to feed their own people. F*@#) the energy companies you can't eat electricity, you can't eat minerals.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39242668

Yes, ^^^that too!!.ty for that input. and if its not the solar energy plan its for fracking...

Noone will step up because they can't. The writers of our great Constitution were afraid of the situation that has unfolded before our eyes. Nowhere in the Constitution does it give the feds the right to infringe upon states rights. The federal government has slowly creeped in like a bully shoving and kicking his way to the front of the line. The feds should be working for and be at the mercy of the states. Not the other way around. A monster has been created. I have a B.A. in Political Science so I know a litte about the Constitution. That was so long ago that I need a refresher course though.

Pretty sure all your answers are here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56714952

Here is your research...

*UPDATE: Those who say Bundy is a “deadbeat” are making inaccurate claims. Bundy has in fact paid fees to Clark County, Nevada in an arrangement pre-dating the BLM. The BLM arrived much later, changed the details of the setup without consulting with Bundy — or any other rancher — and then began systematically driving out cattle and ranchers. Bundy refused to pay BLM, especially after they demanded he reduce his heard’s head count down to a level that would not sustain his ranch. Bundy OWNS the water and forage rights to this land. He paid for these rights. He built fences, established water ways, and constructed roads with his own money, with the approval of Nevada and BLM. When BLM started using his fees to run him off the land and harassing him, he ceased paying. So should BLM reimburse him for managing the land and for the confiscation of his water and forage rights? - See more at: [link to danaloeschradio.com]

check the explanation post a bit above you. He knows he doesn't OWN the land - he owns the GRAZING RIGHTS.

Yes Bundy had free full grazing rights.

Then the govt comes along and changes the rules and forces ranchers like him to pay a fee that he did not pay.

Remember the govt is on a mission to tax us to death and its more and more and more and it will get worse.

I dont blame him for being upset and stopping paying but as I said above, when the govt targets anything, people, land, healthcare, you/we lose 99% of the time.

Look at how many people have lost battles with the EPA, IRS IE any govt agency and end up in bankruptcy when they are in the right.

If he would have just paid the fees he would not have issues. I hate this sort of crap too, but its life in the present and the way things are and this is not 1890.

If it was 1890 a lot of people would already be dead.

Re: Challenge to all Bundy doubters.Benefit of the doubt.

FUCK HIM

You pay taxes to the IRS? Is your law based on our constitution? Can you answer my questions?

It's rather simple, people like him would rather the land go to U.S. Senator Harry Reid, his son Rory Reid, and the agent they put in charge of the BLM who was a Reid aide for over a decade, so they can make money off of it from the Chinese.

Because allowing a private citizen to make a product, a product that is in short supply with sky rocketing prices, in the mother effing desert in a renewable and sustainable way, is against their Constitutional sensibilities. Evil counts on sheep like them.

No U.S. law was broken, no charges have been filed. Tyranny in action.
