strange paranormal event, any ideas?
This memory of an unexplained event keeps resurfacing in my mind lately. About 7 years ago my brother(13 then) and I (17 at the time) had snuck out of bed to play some video games; we were completely sober with no prior use of hallucinogenics.

while he was in the living room playing the game I was in the kitchen making a sandwich when the curtains began to move inside the home. Next we heard creaking almost like the foundation of the house was shifting. At this point my brother are standing side by side in the living room when all of existence seemed to collapse moving towards us from all directions. I remember it being like something out of the matrix, completely unreal... yet in a what seemed like less than a second the room had returned to normal aside from the fact that my brother and I were face down on the ground our legs just gave out in that brief moment of confusion and in a panic we just hit the ground. We both to this day remember what we experienced and just typing this out gives me the chills...

I've always supressed this memory I guess as it doesn't comply with our normal experience of the universe, but can't shake the feeling that it was an important event, and that it has some kind of meaning.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Meh. Could be thought forms or spirits playing about. Spirits take in energy when they're visiting our realm, so they can cause reality to appear distorted. Dark areas can also be a sign of these things. They need energy to feed on.

Classic alien abduction.

Did you notice any missing time?

Some things you just can't explain OP...but at least your brother can validate that it happened. Some people just have to wonder alone.

Re: strange paranormal event, any ideas?
No missing time, just a lot of fear and confusion... if I recall we hauled ass to the nearest bed and said to hell with the games I just want to sleep lol. I didn't even get to eat the PBJ I was making.

The house had a track record for spiritual presence of some sort, very old home (200 yr+) was used as an infirmary in the late 1800's. Even with all of the history and very strange things happening we never really felt threatened by it, my friends would spend the night in hopes of encountering the ghost we referred to as Jay. A lot of them did, some of them had to leave in the middle of the night. I didn't mention all of those occurrences felt so different from that one strange event.

I guess I shouldn't say "no missing time" there was no sensation of elapsed time or change in the room, we didn't check a clock or anything... crazy to think about...

I am beginning to think that missing time is just a symptom of one type of abduction by one type of species of alien.

OP..Do you think it might have been an earthquake and fear combined..I know, but please understand that silly questions are the starting point to the more serious ones

Re: strange paranormal event, any ideas?
I don't think so, though it does fit my initial description. I lived in central michigan for 18 years without experiencing any earthquakes, the "creaking" of the house sounded more along the lines of my mother coming down the stairs (which was very loud, my mother does nothing quiet.) in fact, that's what we were expecting, my mother to bust us... No one came through the door though, we stood there waiting for the door to open but it never did, that point the house had stopped making noise and that is when the "collapse" occured.

I have experienced a few earthquakes in different parts of the world at this point in my life, and don't remember anything that felt like the ground was trembling/shaking the night of this event.

Re: strange paranormal event, any ideas?
you, we are all trapped in a machine, a matrix for lack of a better word. There was a glitch - you began to see the real world you are trapped in. Then the machine pulled you back in. Many have started to wake up....do not doubt what you saw....the machine is breaking down

Re: strange paranormal event, any ideas?
No, we never felt alone in that house, but the presence in the home always seemed protective. For example, I had drank a bit too much and was pretty sick in the bathroom one night, my buddy kept asking why none of the lights would work in the house except the room that I was in, I was too messed up to pay any bother. He was kept by my side the whole night until we passed out in the entry room/mud room. We had a lot of strange things like this happen, but always with good intentions it seemed.

Regarding the matrix/machine comment, yeah I can see the logic in that. Seems probable that we are experiencing a simulation; that we exist in some form wholly other than this form on a different plane of existence and that we are plugged into this system for some kind of education/experience(likely a simulation as well lol) Makes me wonder to what purpose the operator runs the machine.

Maybe It's an established government on another plane which forces it's immortal inhabitants to take a dummy test in a mortal body to learn ones capacity for morality/ethics before being allowed to enter or experience life in that plane. Wait that's Christianity!wtf
