8 days in hospital carpark waiting for his owner
A patient at a Brazilian hospital has had an emotional reunion with his dog after the loyal pet spent eight days in a hospital car park waiting for him.

Seco the dog waited patiently for his owner, homeless man Lauri da Costa, after he staggered into the hospital's emergency ward with brutal injuries from being beaten with a rock, local news site Radio Uirapuru reports. But what was expected to be a few hours in hospital, in the small city of Passo Fundo, turned into more than a week after doctors found a melanoma on Mr da Costa's face and had to operate immediately.

That's a beautiful story. There are really some patches of pure light in this dismal world.

sadly though there are many here that will scream, cry and whine about their "rights" when a city, county or state tries to enact laws to protect animals...

Aw come on. There are also sweet stories of human-cat companionship. Don't be a party pooper.

Bottom line: animals are pretty freaking cool and we should do right by them.

Sadly, here in America, the dog would have been taken to the pound and put to sleep. The laws that the stupid people are enacting now are NOT protecting the animals but being used to take away the rights to not only, protect the animals, but also to protect the people. The Humane Socialist Society is out of control!

A cat was being fed by some "noble" bitches who eventually "nobally" took him to the vet. This nice healthy looking and acting cat had feline leukemia (so the vet says) and the noble bitch had him put to sleep. The owners never knew what happened to their cat.

I did not want to click on this thread for fear it was a story of a dog locked in a car, forgotten for 8 days. I am so glad I finally read it. So glad to hear the loyal friend was cared for by hospital staff.

I have nine rescue dogs at the moment. One of them was actually my neighbour's dog. He turned up at my place and I took him in, then another neighbour recognized him. I took him back three times (although I didn't want to.) Each time he turned up again with the remains of a chewed-off rope round his neck. Third time the neighbour gave up and told me to keep him. That was over ten years ago and he's still going strong.
