The reptiles and the cats. Even the tigers and lions do not have those eyes.

What is so special about these 2 species that only they have vertical irises?

Not so much, frogs for one are not reptiles and a fox is not actually a cat. There are others but you get the idea. Plus those born with Cat eye syndrome.

Re: There're only 2 families of species with vertical iris
Daytime Animals

But many nocturnal animals, such as cats, are not strictly nocturnal — they move around during the day as well as at night. They need some way to protect their sensitive eyes in daylight, and slit pupils provide that protection.

Like a theater curtain, a slit pupil can close as much as necessary to prevent too much light from entering the eye.

Humans And Round Pupils

For humans and other animals active mainly in the daytime, visual sensitivity is not as important as the ability to see small details in bright light.

So the eyes of humans, lizards, ground squirrels, and most birds have a design suited for operation in bright light without the special protection of slit pupils. In dim light, our eyes are not as sensitive as those of nocturnal animals.""

No, goat eyes though they are a slit type pupils are on the horizontal. Goats are prey animals so the pupils are to give them a panoramic view so to speak to watch for predators. Vertical pupils are for focus on prey.

If a fox was bred with a sheep would we call it a shox or a feep? What would its eyes look like? What about its ass?

Excellent work Doctor! We can learn much from this picture about interbreeding of species and slits.

Sometimes GLP nearly kills me with it's expert answers. Due to my near choking to death on whatever I was dumb enough to take a sip of before reading what every said expert had to say.
