Said he was not intoxicated This reminds me, earlier on CNN they mentioned that the captain had left to go to his room to check on something, or something like that, right before this disaster took place. It was very vague and sounded shady. I can't remember the exact wording now. think harder lol Lmao! I tried. My brian goes into shutdown mode as soon as I leave work on Fridays. what just like when I posted ferry updates on la times thread? haha point the finger, blame the other |

nutmeg User ID: 18480806 United States 04/19/2014 08:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If it hit a rock we all would have seen the hole, lots of vid and pics as it capsized and slow rolled its hull up nicely for the cameras. I am assuming that water was deliberately let in through piping of some sort. The captain is a North Korean supporter and did this on purpose, or else North Koreans torpedoed it. Somehow the north is involved. This isn't some generic grounding. No, it was a fucking attack on the souths best young brains. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27959299 Can't wait to hear us navy report very soon once their frogmen have a look. They interviewed one of our navy officers on CNN yesterday. He said the USA will not be part of the recovery/diving team. I was surprised. At least that what he knew at the time. Last Edited by nutmeg on 04/19/2014 08:09 AM |

Korea calls S. Korea a "society where parents are unable to let their children go on study tours with easy mind." #ferry Sounds like me! I was always fearful when my kids went away. They are grown, and I still want them to call me, especially if they're on the road...as if I could protect them. Once my older daughter wasn't feeling well, but the girl scout leader said if she didn't go camping with them that weekend, she would fall behind the others in the group and not get her badges. So, I took her and my younger daughter to the campsite and we slept in cabin bunk beds. My younger one loved it! One grieving Korean mother said that her daughter didn't want to go on the trip, but she encouraged her to join her classmates. That's why she now feels so guilty. I know exactly why she would feel that way. How very sad. Last Edited by nutmeg on 04/19/2014 08:33 AM |

He said if the passengers jumped overboard with life jackets on, the swift currents would have taken them away. Besides, the water was too cold, so he counted on rescue boats to quickly help them. I doubt if he anticipated that ship would tip over as fast as it did and sink! Last Edited by nutmeg on 04/19/2014 10:14 AM |

They could have swam to the exposed land in the background of some pictures. The ship's location was 20km (12 miles) off the island of Byungpoong. The weather was bad, the currents were swift, the water was 50 degrees or colder. I think survival is 30 minutes in water that cold. This might give you an idea of how the rescue efforts have been hampered by the weather! No way could the passengers have survived in the water! I just recall seeing an aerial picture showing several small land masses less than a half a mile away. By seeing those land masses, it seemed that there could have been a reef or something near by that they swerved quickly to avoid. LisaDiane |
