I want to go home !

I moved away from my family with my wife (ex now) 25 years ago. She has been around her family and friends her whole life and mine have died or have not heard from me in decades.

My biggest regret in life is I moved away from my family and friends.

I can't go back now, it is all changed and gone and I have been forgotten.

You should go home.
If your wife won't go, leave her.
She'll follow if she loves you.
I couldn't stand living in the city so here I am back in Lapland and I will never ever leave again.

I'm in the same situation.

She did move away from her family for 10 years
and wanted to come home to Houston. but now, the tables are turned and it's been 15 for me.

It is never too late.

It's a dream..
I have no home to go to. I was raised by my grandparents and they are both gone now. The family house was sold in 2003 and has since been torn down.

Go back for a visit. Call some old friends & ask if they'll have the time to meet up on this date.

Get a hotel room for a few nights & get a feel for the place again.

I remember I wanted to go back to my old college & when I finally did...I found it wasn't mine any more.

Maybe you'll end up happier where you are now if you see how things have changed back home.

I can relate. My childhood home (lived there first 18 years of my life) was completely renovated by the current owners. When I drive by I don't even feel any nostalgia because it looks unrecognizable. My folks are deceased, siblings moved to another state. I'd like to move away from where I currently reside because I've lived in this area for 3 decades and I'm tired of it. I really want to live near the Rockies, enjoy the mountain scenery and experience more rural, laid-back living.

Haven't been back since my
Grandmother died in 2003.

I keep saying I need to go back and visit...
but, the only place I would be going is the cemetery.








I often look it up on google earth...
I can't believe what I'm seeing..totally unrecognizable...

I too long to get away from my current
place of residence. but, I learned a long time ago..
you can run, but you can't hide from yourself...wherever you go, there you are...

Always try to move forward, not backward.

I know..just longing for the simpler times, when I was a kid in the hills of appalachia.
