It's a huge process to realign to the world... to embrace a new reality where you fit in. When you lose your parent, you lose your past. When you lose your spouse, you lose your present. When you lose your child, you lose your future. |

But, you could be like me and have both parents alive and neither one want to have anything to do with you or your kids...Haven't seen my Dad in 20 years and my mother since 2005. They choose not to be involved in my life and my childrens lives. It's hard to be by yourself, but you can do it. I have. Quoting: zosocodablunardtard thank you, its not that i feel sorry for myself, more that i don't really know what i'm meant to feel now, or what i'm meant to do? continue as i always have, or do something different? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30699890 I think you answered your own question buddy. Sell your stuff and travel. It will keep you mind free. You will not be trapped in a world that reminds you of the loss. You will travel and learn new things. Meet new people. You will essentially be reborn. Take a chance on yourself. What's the work that could happen. You come back to what you know and start again. |

Nyblazer User ID: 53182746 United States 04/18/2014 02:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lost my parents both before the age of 20 so I can relate to you OP in that sense. It's easy to get down about your situation, to fall into a depressed state of self pity. My younger brother is like this and has been all his life. He wastes away day after day seeking sympathy from others for his situation. He refuses to take responsibility for himself in most aspects of life, hanging onto the crutch of the rough card life dealt him. He is miserable 24/7. Instead of simply accepting life and moving on he feels resentment towards others who have it better. My way of coping from a young age was to always looking at any obstacle in life, be it as minuscule as failing a test to as big as losing a loved one, as something that would strengthen my resolve in life. Something that would not allow me to falter in my path. Something that would make my success be that much more rewarding. I try to use this strength to help my friends who haven't dealt with much tragedy in life. Instead of seeking sympathy for my situation, I find purpose and happiness in helping it motivate others. Surely seeking Him to fill your mind and daily thoughts is a wonderful thing? |

Is it worth cooking the dinner just for myself?Do i continue the family traditions by myself? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30699890 There is someone out there for everyone, and not everyone is the same. Find love, Find friendship, find a healthy relationship with something, or someone. Let your mind be free and understand that everything in life happens for a reason. No "god" BS. Be yourself, and love yourself. There is so much to life then just putting yourself down. We are here for you, and so is everyone else ( excluding the shills ) |

Things I am thinking about right now, just hypothetical questions, Christmas of all things, will I celebrate it alone this year or just not bother anymore? Is it worth cooking the dinner just for myself?Do i continue the family traditions by myself? Do you have any other family at all? If so strengthen your relationships with them. If not I'm sure you have friends who care about you. Focus on the relationships you do have. Gotta stop reflecting on what you don't have. People respect and are often times inspired by the strength others have in dealing with a less than ideal situation. Everybody loves a story of human resolve and overcoming the obstacles of life. It's the hand you were dealt, there is no point in wallowing in it. Make the best of things. There is always someone worse off then you who is not giving up, what excuse do you have? Nyblazer |
