Saving to Build a Simple Solar Homestead

I have no experience either but I am sure I have come across sites that are specificaly
for people thinking about building something basic for the first time.

I wish I had done it years ago.

That's exactly why I want to start saving now! I just wanted some better literature to prepare myself.

That guy has some good youtube videos.

Buy a nice solar panel, battery, and all required cables, buy 2 solar chargers just in case,


$200 bucks = peace of mind.


Get rechargeable AAA AA batteries, use your solar charged battery to recharge those,,,,


I live in zone 3, fricking cold all the time, just had 10 inches of snow two days ago!

Be redundant. Buy 2 or 3 of everything.

And then be at peace.

I am basically a Yooper.

How much would you guess the cost would be? Meaning the cost to get us living in the home and later renovate.

I was raised in Midland. Now I'm out in Battle Creek.

Take that number of what 'they say' is your planting zone and deduct by at least one.

I learned the hard way.

Buy in the next few weeks apple, pear, cherry trees. MAKE sure that the trees are in your zone and minus one!!

Also, not to be so chatty cathy,
but blueberries grow wonderfully in MI! And rasperberries too.

Invest, plant, and in a couple years you will have many years of food.!!!!

Around some people, no... But for the most part I've always felt safe in Michigan. And I've lived in some ghetto areas.
