Two words, Secular Humanism.....and the foundation has been laid.

When we hear the word Idolatry, we often think of carved idols and foreign religions. Yes, those are idols, but what exactly is idolatry? It's the worshiping of the created instead of the creator.

It's the first sin ever committed, by satan himself.

We can read more of this in Isaiah chapter 14 when satan lays out his 5 point game plan, which was doomed to fail from the beginning. Here it is:

1. I will ascend to heaven
2. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
3. I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the uttermost north.
4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
5. I will make myself like the Most High.


So, what exactly is this sin? It's the worship of self. I will do this, I will do that, I am making my own rules, I am king of my own universe, I decide what is right and what is wrong, I answer only to myself, I am my own judge....i am god. I...I...I....me....me.....me. Worship of self....worshiping the created instead of the creator.

The first commandment God wrote "You shall have no other gods before me." That's how important idolatry is to God, it was His first commandment. No other gods, including yourself!

If you make yourself your own god, you are doing exactly what satan did, making yourself a satan. This is the opposite of humility, it's exalting yourself. This won't turn out well for you in the end, unless you humble yourself and repent. Jesus said "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

The coming "religion" to the world is Secular Humanism. The definition of this is "humanism, with regard in particular to the belief that humanity is capable of morality and self-fulfillment without belief in God." Sound familiar? remember the 5 "I wills?"

It is completely removing God from everything, and we see the foundation being laid for this now...worshiping everything and everyone except for the Creator.

This is idolatry, this is anti-christ......and it ties in with the 2 beasts of Revelation.
