Re: Why are there no cats in the Bible ?
Cats being genetically altered is interesting theory, where did you come up with that idea, Elwa?

What makes me think you could be correct, is that cats are the only ones with reptilian eyes. Lions and tigers do not have reptilian eyes, they have circular pupils like the rest of the mammalian kingdom does.

Even if this does not mean some kind of genetic engineering for cats, it definitely is another hole in the evolutionary theory. As cats evolved from large lions and tigers, why would their pupils suddenly change like that, it's not something that is entirely necessary and it would take millions of years for the eyes to make that drastic of a change, as the eyes are a very complicated system.

Because cats were genetically engineered by the Egyptians from larger more wild animals. Then they proliferated. Early era, in the Old Testament stories, they were not around as domestic animals.
 Quoting: Elwa

The fact that the ancient Egyptians idolized these engineered animals via their cat goddess Bastet probably had a lot to do with it.

The cat was originally a desert animal. Perhaps that explains why the cat and the camel both walk by moving the front and back leg on the same side of the body at the same time, while other animals move the left front and right rear limb at the same time.

It probably also explains why so many cats today develop kidney problems. Cats in nature derive most of their moisture from their prey which is substantial. Cats today are fed the convenient dry kibble diet which contains little moisture. The cats don't take in enough fluids until it is too late to recover and kidney failure ensues.

Are there dogs?
 Quoting: MONSTER

Yes, the junkyard dogs outside the city walls devoured all but the skull, feet and palms of the hands of the evil Jezebel.

Some cats have round pupils:

Round pupils are characteristic of "big cats" and many oriental breeds of domestic cat. They seem to be associated with "canine-like" behaviours compared with the typical feline behaviour patterns of a small European moggie.
