I sometimes capitalize words when I am writing, for emphasis, but that is just because I don't know how to italicize. When we write and when we speak things may sound different. When we speak we can emphasize words, often emphasis changes the whole idea behind a sentence. For example; we like oranges. WE like oranges. we LIKE oranges. we like ORANGES.

That's not to say that there aren't some who wouldn't choose to try some funny stuff to mess with our heads.
