visual migraines/auras/visual snow, sleep paralysis/hypnagogic hallucinations, paranoia, spirits
Hi,

I'm a few years younger than I'm supposed to be to join this site, so I'm hoping I won't get in trouble. However, I've been having weird experienced lately. I've always had weird experiences, since I was very very young. But lately it's so much and I'm not really able to handle it. I came on this site to see if anyone else had been experiencing similar things, and if they had any advice.

So, when I was around the age of three or four, according to my mother, I saw spirits. I do remember a little bit of what I saw, but not enough to say that it wasn't imaginary. I told my mother they were guardians, I guess. After that, my parents fed my imagination with stories of fairies and dragons and wizards, which I do still believe in. Around the age of 7, I was hiking with my family and I saw a fairy wing. It disappeared when I wanted to show my mother, and I still wonder if it actually happened. I am a very creative person, and maybe it wasn't real. Then from 8-11, I was out of tune, I guess.

However, since the age of 12, and for a few years now, I've been experiencing major paranoia. I feel personalities in energies that don't belong to any living being in my household. It's almost like I can feel their physical characteristics, like height and weight and color. I do see things occasionally. But most of the time, it's stuff out of the corner of my eye, or shadows in mirrors. I have yet to be completely confronted and contacted by something. I have felt strong presences though.

Even more recently, I've been able to see the aura of everyone I see. Especially if they're in front of something white. It almost looks like when you look at the sun and then look away. Eventually, I saw auras around everything, even inanimate objects. I googled it, and didn't find much besides the term visual migraines. I also get the 'visual snow.' The aura stuff and the visual snow is always there, and it calm down, but it's still always there.

Another thing that I just discovered six months ago is sleep paralysis. It was terrifying, honestly. My eyes were closed, and I saw auras of demonic faces. There was a loud buzzing noise, a really weird electric guitar noise, screaming, and laughing. I felt insane. I couldn't move, I couldn't snap out of it. I then heard the voices of people in my family, and managed to get myself up. It turns out that there was no one home, and the voices were all in my head. Possibly a way to get me up. Anyway, since then, every other night i experience it. It isn't as intense, and I've gotten used to it. Sometimes there aren't the scary faces, but there's always that buzzing sound.
Only a few days ago I was really freaked out by it, it lasted for 20 minutes, and I know because I could hear everything going on around me. My siblings were watching a movie. I tried screaming, and it ended up making it hard to breathe.

Sorry this is so sloppy and all over the place, but I'm low on sleep and very interested in what other people have to say. I might be crazy, I might not be. But I really don't think I'm alone.

Call for God to help you, audibly if you can, or in your head if you have to. I've done this "God help me" in dreams that turned ugly and was pulled right out of them into a calm waking state. If you feel there are entities at work you can rebuke them in the name of Jesus, I've done this as well and felt them quiver. If it works, it works.

Re: visual migraines/auras/visual snow, sleep paralysis/hypnagogic hallucinations, paranoia, spirits
Actually, I could have written most of your post myself.

As early as four I was having horrible sleep paralysis and INTENSE hypnagogic hallucinations. I haven't had one in about a year. Anyway, my mom took me to see a pastor. I told her (my mom) of hearing a man and a woman speaking; one to the other "Should we kill her now?" (a man, sounding weirdly empathetic) "No," (something kind of garbled and she started It was extremely horrifying because I was in my bed and the room looked as it usually did in the dream. So, I perceived it as being real. I still remember being in my bed, feeling pinned, like I was being held down. The pastor told me how to, what some would call "lucid dream" He didn't put it that way, but what he said held the main principle. You have to assert yourself in this state. If paralysis or nightmares happen again, as hard and weird as this sound, yell out "NO!" That reason that word is effective is because it is the most assertive and authoritative word in, probably, our entire being. Also, as the other poster suggested, you can call out for God. I've actually woken up to myself saying my name before to wake myself up.

One thing that troubles me about your post is the "hallows" that you see. Are you epileptic or is there any possibility whatsoever that you might be? Are you seeing them without the headaches?

Sorry for that lump of information. I should have been more grammatically correct myself. But, I hope you know that there are other people out there who have dealt with it, even overcome it and that you can too.

PS Would you call the noises you hear sort of like really loud static?hf

Finally people that this also happens to. It's terrifying & my sleep paralysis doesn't just happen for a few seconds like most, mine lasts for 15-20 mins. I've been experiencing it for a few years now but here lately it's been the most frequent & lasting for the longest periods. I do everything I can to get help but nothing works. Finally after attempt & attempt & attempt I'll be released from it, I get auras before it happens, which feels like I would imagine a near seizure feels like. It feels as if millions of electrodes are pulsing thru my body. After a sleep paralysis episode I feel so lethargic I can hardly function. My head usually still feels fuzzy & almost like its pulsating & vibrating inside. I really don't know what to do to get these episodes to stop other than not to go to sleep when I have an aura. Sleep paralysis is awful! I always think I'm going to suffocate. My husband has heard me call out for help & he said I sound like I'm moaning. If he shakes me awake it will immediately snap me out of it, but most of the time he is unaware or not present when it happens. I definitely experience hallucinations w/ it....which I would assume is more the confusion of whether I'm dreaming or not since you're in between REM & NREM sleep when it's happening.
I'm so glad you started this forum. I hope there are people who can help & I will certainly try calling out to God & saying no next time.

How are your dreams Idek? Are they vivid? Do you dream often and how is your recollection of them? Anything stand out in them as significant or odd?
“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a tellar but for want of an understanding ear.” Stephen King

you could try following the book "gut and psychology syndrome" by natassia campbell macbride.

your gut is your second brain. if it is messed up with wrong bacteria due to things like antibiotics some very strange things can happen. also food allergies can play a part.

i've had a few migraine auras one that was quite scary was i could only see half of everything. like if i looked at you i only would see half your face. the other half would be gone.

i've heard that one person's schitzo went away with gluten and dairy free diet.

even if fixing your gut doesn't fix you, you will probably be healthier for it. good luck.
