I've seen pics of him clean-shaven, or with a stylish Elizabethan moustache, but NEVAH with a beard.

Looks like someone is trying to clean up the bard's image. Perhaps the Jesuits? They have a reputation for revising history.

If you enjoy this one you might be entertained by the fact that Mozart was actually a hack musician. Most of the music attributed to him was in fact authored by poor and desperate musicians who sold their work to the Mozart estate.. sort of a "brand name" that allowed them to get their music published.
