I must be a brainless wonder, been drinking for 30 years

alcohol gets boring after a while. anyone who can't think of better things to do than get drunk. it's poison if you binge drink/drink everyday. a single glass of beer won't hurt every once in a while if you can keep a handle on your drinking. the way i stopped drinking a lot was to find better things to do where i couldn't be inebriated. for example playing multiplayer computer games i find that i do much better if i haven't had even one drink of beer. reading and researching are also much better if you are sober. my 2 cents take it for what it's worth but drinking is rarely worthwhile the next day. if you drink at night and go to sleep it interferes with your restorative sleep.

it's not too late just find stuff like competitive computer gaming or a sport where you perform better when you don't drink. idleness breeds vice. you just got to find something to channel your energies away from boozing all the time. ask yourself "why can i find better things to do?"

Just like anything op. Moderation is the key but it also exposes weakness.

Maybe you could try Dry Alcohol?

Hmm. Been drinking for 25 years myself and I still feel pretty sharp. I'm smarter than many sober people I know. Maybe it's the fact that I eat heathy and avoid sugar and processed stuff.

At 40 I am ready to drink less of course. I know alcohol is stealing vitamins from my body. My boyfriend is an alcoholic, in fact I should call him my ex since he is very selfish and I've had it with him. He binge drinks. He is very smart on many ways but emotionally stunted and tends to repeat himself and space out important things. In his case he does nothing to mitigate the damage, he has a crappy diet and I fear he will succumb to illness.

I cut drinking three months ago, cold turkey. Didn't touch it again and now I don't feel I want it anymore.

I was a casual drinker.

So does marriage, but most people seem to ignore that fact...
