'St George’s Day is part of English culture, I didn’t want to offend anyone or cause malice and I don’t believe I did.
'I’m disgusted as I’m a patriotic guy and to me it is wrong that I wasn’t allowed to celebrate English culture and was deterred from doing so, as I wasn’t doing any harm.
'I think it is a sad state of affairs if we are stopped from acknowledging our culture.'

I bet on Ramadan or Eid or whatever muslim festival they have they can all turn up with islamic stuff...

if you both read the story correctly:
quote:

"But the father-of-three was ordered to remove the red and white flat cap because it was not part of the official uniform.

Mr Lawson refused"

He REFUSED TO REMOVE THE CAP.

he was sacked because he refused to remove it.

Why should he remove it? I could understand if he wore it instead of a hard hat for health and safety, but that wasn't the case. You should see all the shops and everywhere on St Patricks Day here in Ireland - everyone's wearing silly big green hats! The truth is that you simply aren't allowed to be English any more. Being English is racist!
