Am I the only one who thinks the idea of demons torturing people in hell is just silly?

Works wonders as one for the naive, I was afraid of the same things happening to me one day just a few years ago.

People experience hell for the 1,000 year period, after that it is only the fallen angels that are in the fiery lake (the long version of hell) It appears to be the kind of place where Murphy's Law is in effect 10 times before you even get out the door to go to work. For an immortal, thirst, hunger and pain would be a change for the worse.

Isa:65:12:
Therefore will I number you to the sword,

Jesus said this in Matt 25

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

What I don't understand is how someone could worship a god who would allow something like that to happen to creatures he supposedly loves...

not sure where your getting your idea of hell. The Bible says it's a place of torment for THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS. They aren't having fun they are being tormented. Those who reject God (making the devil their god) will likewise join their god.

Unless I'm mistaken and I don't believe I am ....nowhere does it say in the. Bible that demons will be torturing people in hell ...the demons are fallen angels and they themselves are also suffering torture ... Hell is not a physical torture ...it a mental anguish ... That human will know without a doubt that hell is real .... And they are eternally separated from God with no chance at redemption .....the lake of fire is different from hell/hades ....hell is described as a bottomless pit ...... The lake of fire is the final punishment and most assume that the torment is physical because of the name , lake of fire

So God is supposed to take a free will man that choose to rape and murder little kids in time on earth and let's say that man never gets caught ....

And then he stands before God in the afterlife and God being a righteous and just creature is supposed to do what exactly? ... That hypothetical man made his own choices ...he engaged his own free will and committed evil acts ...

In essence this man sent himself to hell ....God enforces the just and righteous judgement that is self evident

The concept that Isaiah:65 is about the group called 'the rest' is supported by the verses before the sword is used. It is also supported in the later verses because 'the servants' that are alive for the 1,000 reign are not given in marriage so their population for that time will be a static one. That is because they are destined to be residents of New Jerusalem in the new earth. Beasts of the field and such cannot enter the city because in the new earthy they still do not know about good and evil.

M't:22:30:
For in the resurrection they neither marry,
nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

The ones in the new earth verses have children and they have dominion over animals. Since they are given in marriage they will be how mankind grows in number over eternity. The way that works is when a baby is born it is called an infant for the first 20 years and at that time the 'title' infant dies and the new title is 'child' and that title lasts 100 years and in that time they marry and have 100 children. At the age of 120 they do the Great White Throne event and the last 100 years is examined and when the person is found to not be a sinner they are given immortality and in that state they cease to have any more children but they remain alive to interact with all generations that follow them. That is why God took away Moses's breath at the age of 120, he died before he had to be judged, death washed all his sins away.

The Law was mentioned in prophecy in Ge:6 when the rules that God used to judge the world to be in sin was the Law given in Re:21. That is the Law that will govern men for the new earth, that is the Law that the 'sons of God' were under in Ge:6 and their children would have carried on until the last giant was killed in the exodus wars. Prior the dating was set at 1,000 years is a day and Adam died at 930 years so he was 70 years short of having to be judged by God. The 1,000 year reign will be day 1 of a return to that counting as the 10 Commandments will be 'retired' when Jesus says, 'It is finished.' as He pours out the 7th vial. The 10 Commandments govern a people that sin, when the last unrepented Gentile dies on the day the 7th trump sounds that is also the last sinner that will ever exist. Israel is gathered in whole and a remnant of the Gentiles atr on the earth for that 1st day. In that time they are perfected so that fire that sends fallen angels to the fiery lake leave them untouched and they ascend to the Great White Throne but they are qualified to enter the city as they are perfected beings.

Zec:13:9:
And I will bring the third part through the fire,
and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried:

and I will hear them:

and they shall say,

The verses below are for the 12 Tribes and they are resurrected when the last sinner is dead and then the Gentiles that qualify for the Re"20:4 list will join them. By evening of that day everyone destined to be alive for the 1,000 years will be alive.

Eze:37:23-28:
Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols,
nor with their detestable things,
nor with any of their transgressions:
but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned,
and will cleanse them:
so shall they be my people,
and I will be their God.

Death is the price demanded by God up to the day the 7th trump of Re:11 sounds. On that day the price of getting sins voided requires death and rather than it being death and sleep it is death and still being awake.

Isaiah:14 is the reason men are awake for the 1,000 years.

"Hell" sounds like somewhere that someone doesnt want to go.

If a sinner goes to hell he'll be right at home, it'll be his heaven.

Well my silly little friend the Bible says nothing of demons torturing people. Maybe u should turn off the simpsons and do a little reading once in a while. The "Demons" or fallen ones will be tortured far more than the human souls that entered hell. They are there to suffer, not have superiority. In fact the Bible says that in hell lucifer himslef will be looked upon human souls and they (the human souls) will be amazed at what a small unassuming little creature he actually is and will be amazed that this yutz had the ability to do what he did to the world.

Because I don't think its logical that an evil spirit will have the authority to torture a less evil being for all eternity?

torment and burning is a physical feeling ..expierenced on behalf of the central nervous system and cells in an actual human body and brain which create those feelings..
