Stephen Hawking on AI being best and last invintion
Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks.

What a dumb ass. You can create extremely complex routines and such, much like a human has, but you'll never be able to generate awareness or intuition using programming language.

This idea that machines will rise up is just nonsense. It will only do that if it's programmed too or if there's a bug, never on its own accord.

Re: Stephen Hawking on AI being best and last invintion
I doubt we could learn to avoid the risks of it. There's too many variables and if one's taken out or added more of it could turn bad for the human species.

It could end up being that humans would be wiped out by their own technology or being controlled.

Every time I see the specials on this topic and see the them talk about the improvements of such technology also improvements on artificial body parts, I get a bad feeling.
It may have a lot to do with science fiction materials that deal with these topics. While it's science fiction, it also has quite a bit that deals with showing what could go wrong if one thing is tweaked.
It's almost like we'll be setting ourselves up for those routes if we're not careful.

If Stephen is worried about it (and he is a smart guy) then I think there is something to it. While movies like terminator, I robot seem far fetch, they really could become reality. Where the machines think they need to be the ones in control...

Why would an AI want to exterminate everyone? If it has vastly greater intellectual capacity than even the smartest human, it would already know that most people are good and decent and that it is only the ruling elite who cause war and misery.

If anything, it is the elite that fear AI because the development of such technology would likely end with their heads on spikes and the oppressed people of Earth finally free.

Ya they created a chip for one guy that transforms thoughts into words yet no one else has it?

Hawkins is a dribbling idiot...so who's the voice? I promise you its not Stephen Hawkins that is speaking that robot sound.

The face of NASA...Hawkins speaks you believe it. Then Nasa can rake in more tax dollars..

Everything is a lie..

Einstein was a retard too

Remember the Earth spins at 1000 mph and yet not a hair on my head is moving. .lol

Gravity is a lie..

Newton tried to prove the theory of gravity with "ifs" in a book that's much larger than the bible and still could never prove it correct.

Space programs are fake...money pits...billion dollar missions...lol

I'm convinced the NSA has full control of Hawking's black box to be able to spout whatever they want through his computerized pseudo authority.

Re: Stephen Hawking on AI being best and last invintion
Why do people assume its Artificial intelligence that we are actualy questioning. It seems quite influencial to humans, even with the chips being exterior but once they start blending with the biological, who then assumes a director position at Skynet or the like, then we could probably assume that there would be a point and only for a while maybe, where some may notice a plan in frutition, wether it be from an AI becoming self aware or wether it was planted from the very begining of technology on Earth ( if thats where this is all happening )

Its the biggest conspiracy on Earth and even infuencial people around the world, in politics, military, development and down to street level, may live a life where it would seem super secret and deadly, like the film Blade ( vampires ruling the world ) or another super conspirscy. The paranoia would remain the same and in the view of the ultimate goal, you would either oppose it or defend it. In a sense and if true, it would be likely to be the reason you lived the life you have.

the risk was entertained long ago when tptb saw fit to barter with humanity in exchange for intel from the fallen of the angels...

setting their own course in stone from that point forward

without doubt...

I think AI would be great. Companions for the elderly, helpers for disabled that actually think and talk and hold a conversation. But when that companion thinks that humanity would be better off dead or rounded up to "safe camps" has me wanting to put controls on it. While I doubt it will happen in my lifetime, but probably my kids / grand kids time
