It gave me three days of the worst headaches of my life. I called the oral surgeon thinking something was wrong and was told headaches are normal. I could not move without a throbbing ice pick headache in my eye. When I stopped taking the hydrocodone my headache went away. pagesiderageside |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19845000 United States 05/04/2014 12:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was bustedup from head to toe and it happened all over again 11 months later in april 1986.. . I was put on demoral, then tylenol 3,s then 4,s then was put on loratab, vicoden, aka hydrocodone or Dr.House pills hehe.. . Then was put on percocets 5,s then 10,s fpr several years, then liver count was going bad so they put me on oxycodone which is the active pain killer in percocet but no tylenol, started me on 10mg the 20, then 40 then 80mg 1-2 x a day or as need for pain you are NOT opiate tolerant it sounds so the 5mg vicoden will do you very well and you will become happy and feel great with it BUT I will tell you, it is an opiate and ujst after about two weeks your body will def become addicted to it, NO WAY AROUND THAT!!!! ! Thats why more than 75% of those in recovery/rehab clinics are there is cause they were legally rx,d these type meds to help with pain after surgery, accidents etc and they became heavily addicted.. And yes opiates will constipate you for sure and little do most people know, the anti diarhea med thats otc called loperamide hydrochloride is a very powerfull NON BRAIN CROSSING OPIATE!! Anyway, if you need to know anything at else about anyt type of pain med, feel free to ask as Ive been/done all of them for going on 30 years now.. . And again that med will do u fine and dont be afraid of it whatsoever as it is a very mild pain med but will work fine for u!! |

one User ID: 54842041 United States 05/04/2014 03:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You should take something for nerve pain as that is where shingles usually attack. DO NOT TAKE ANY prescribed DRUGS. Mother nature has provided everything a human needs to repair itself and fight off viruses, illness, etc... Arnica Montana is an herb that is very helpful with nerve pain. You can get it at any health food store or order it online. It comes in small tabs that melt under your tongue. They don't last long however...pain relief in about 10-15 minutes. And last 30-45 minutes (for me anyway). I have been fighting this very painful virus for 13 years and recently started using Lipo-C (many vids on youtube on how to make your own). This has helped A LOT!!! However you need to research Lipo-C because it can cause your alkaloid levels to change. And use only organic NON-GMO . Witch hazel is very soothing and helps heal the infected area. Target, grocery stores and drug stores carry it. It is in the first aid area. Hydrocodone will dry your hair and skin out. Dehydrates you. Causes constipation. Lack of appetite. Very addictive. Causes depression. I have worked in and study natural medicine for over 30 years. This has to be the 4th thread in the last few days here referring to shingles. Heat is something you also want to avoid. It will cause a breakout. I hope this is helpful and you recover quickly!! Peace |

UnmannedAerialPilot User ID: 1429959 United States 05/04/2014 03:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the Tylenol is deadly! If your pain is so bad that you need medication ask your doctor for: Vicoprofen It is a slightly stronger dose of pain meds mixed with ibuprofen instead of Tylenol. I would recommend only use any if absolutely necessary, they are very toxic on the body and highly addictive also tolerance builds very quickly...bad combo! Try prayer/meditation, staying busy and taking vitamins/natural pain relievers...I have heard rubbing aloe on the site and compressing with warm washcloth can help but never experienced it so I don't know first hand...good luck! |

neocide User ID: 47902435 United States 05/04/2014 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you are finding yourself needing to take the Vicodin on a long term and consistent basis definitely do what others are recommending and have the doctor give you something with less Tylenol. Or non at all. Ask you doctor about a new medication is out that has a high level of hydrocodone and absolutely no Tylenol. Its fairly strong though...perhaps you could get away with breaking the tablets into twos or fours. Its called Zohydro. You only want it if it saves you money by breaking up the tablets. The concentrated dose of hydrocodone is dangerously addictive so don't even touch it if you have an addictive nature or addiction runs in your family. Another natural option that I have found to work well is something called mitragyna speciosa or kratom. It effects a different set of opiod receptors and finding the strain that works best for you will ease your pain and keep you from becoming a slave to the pharmaceutical companies. No prescription required and its highly effective. Insurance won't cover it though. [link to en.wikipedia.org] PM me if you are interested and I can direct you to some vendors and help you find the strain/product of kratom that will be best for you.
