I mean really that was pathetic. And yes I am thrilled that he wanted to make amends and get the guy a new house and all but sorry I agree with some earlier posts on this thread where he is but one of millions of homeless people and what about them. It is sort of like queen for a Day and all programs like that. There are always more down and outers out there and the culprit really is we ourselves. How many of us pass by a poor man holding a tin cup ? I would like to think we could learn from this and start a movement to help out many more homeless and stop the insanity of Sandy Hook receiving millions in aid and for what. So maybe that is what we as GLP'ers should do in each of our towns. Start a homeless fund and try to help out as many as we can. What do you think ?  |

When the study was completed only 20% of them remained homeless afterwards. The rest cited that having a home became enough motivation for them to get their lives together and make a living. Considering there are more empty foreclosed homes than homeless, I say that's an experiment worth duplicating. |

Put the remaing funds in the homeless guys name and let him do as he pleases... He could still remain friendly and supportive without the financial control aspect ... Just seems a bit shady... |

I've often wished that those people whose homes were foreclosed upon would be able to buy them back on pennies on the dollar like the next person that comes along. Also, one of the biggest drawbacks for homeless people is not having an address so potential employers to contact them, so this is just a HUGE plus for him. Finally, a bit of a safety net - what most of us have before we can make the jump out into the wide, wide world. |
