Dax de Jagermeister User ID: 56563391 United States 05/12/2014 08:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP I have a similar situation. One GSD not neutered, one shepherd mix neutered. I would suggest no unsupervised interaction between the pair. Also, keep them separated in individual crates. Rotate house and yard time between the two. I would also recommend getting a muzzle for both of them. When you are home and want them to have family time, put the muzzles on both of them and then you can let them interact. Chances are they will stay away from one another as each dog will not realize the other is muzzled. The muzzle psychologically gives the dog a disadvantage. I never let my males interact without the precautions mentioned above. I learned the hard way. I tried to break up a fight between the 2 and wound up getting bit. One last thing, get a good air horn. If a fight does break out between them, a blast of the airborne will snap them out of fight mode long enough to regain control of them. Good luck OP. |

Get a small toy dog, something that you can handle, people like you raising big, stronger dogs will only get a small child killed. |

The younger one has reached adolescence, maturity and his nature will never be completely changed. You will have to rotate them-for one-on-one house time, attention. Try to divide yard area into two large sections, so they can play up and down through the fence. |
