POLL: The average American think's hes smarter than the average American

We are kept in ignorance for a reason. They had dumbed down the school system. I said this before and I will say it again, the only reason they would do that is so the people would be easy to manipulate. But, they can always be taught and catch up to speed in a small amount of time. They are not stupid, uneducated does, not mean stupid.

I have seen people who went to college and never taught the constitution or about the founding of documents of this country. They don't know it was founded on Judo Christian beliefs. The worship part of the amendment had to do with demonstrations, not being forced to worship as a Catholic or any other religious order, not Lutheran, not Baptist not any. If you did not want to worship you did not have to, but, the premise was that you could worship God and his Son Jesus Christ the way you conscience believed. It had nothing to do with any other God. It had a lot to do with forcing a State sanctioned Religion you were made to follow. It went back to when America was first settled getting away from the ones who would force you to practice Catholicism, or be a member of the Church of England.

If we can agree that education is the major culprit here, then what's wrong with the education system? This article from June 2013 attempts to highlight this:

This honestly doesn't surprise me. Show any sign of intelligence or oddity and you get labelled with ADHD/Antisocial Personality Disorder/Autism/Aspergers and drugs are forced down your throat until you think you need the medication.

Its important to talk about. A lot of contries look to USA when we talk about education and how these systems work.

Our School (and health) institutes in Norway were founded by none other than Rockefeller himself (!) I observe that we tend to follow in your steps. A problem here in Norway is that we have TO MANY PHD's and master degrees, and many of them have problems finding work.

People buy their education, gets a PHD/master and simply fall out of the system. Suddenly everyone are doctors and proffessors. To seldom because they have genuine intrest in what they are doing.

Probably also why employers tend to look for personal qualities and not so much education and work experience in the 20'th century.

You win and we might aswell close the thread.

When my son was little the school district told me that he was ADHD, Autistic and Dyslexic. They called me into a meeting with the Principle, Vice Principle, Guidance Counselor, and Special Education team. I was pretty crushed at that moment. As I sat around the table be scrutinized, the Principal told me that he could never learn how to read. I asked her how she could possibly determine that at 6 years old. She pulled out a folder and said I will show you his IQ results. She flipped through the pages, then looked around the table and said "I think you gave me the wrong file." Once they determined that the school psychologist did indeed give them the correct file, she looked at me and said "I don't understand, it appears that his IQ is 130"

With no other solution, they advised me to have him medicated so he could "live up to his potential" Time went by with me refusing to do so. I went back and forth to that school several times a month. Eventually they called CPS and opened a child abuse for "failure to provide necessary medical care". That began a time torture for my family. We spent over a year dealing with child protective services, doctors and lawyers, all because I refused to drug my child. Eventually the case was expunged and moved him to school more suited to dealing with his abilities. He is 15 now and thriving in honors classes.

I work with a bunch of phd's and scientists... it's humbling.
