Here's the formula:

OMZG BREAKINGZ!!!!!!!!!!!! <insert some entity> TO <insert some action>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use the forward motion term "TO" even if there is no evidence of it being a done deal.

One of my as of yet unimplemented designs was for a forum that would dynamically break people into groups of 120 members. The goal being that everyone would get their say along with some feedback, but also have access to the general forum.

The design was that the forum would always appear to each person have two rooms. The main one, that would be like GLP, a massive stream, then the second one which was your group of 120. But really there would really be tons of second forums, but you'd only see the single one you have permissions to. People wouldn't pick their 120 neighbors, it would just sort of be their neighborhood.

With some algorithims to maintain it all, sort of the way video games portion people into games.

Everyone could Reply to threads in the main forum. But people could only Create threads on their neighborhood forum. Then only mods/admins could move a topic created in a neighborhood into the main, free for all forum.

It's not much different from pins, but with two advantages. All posts get a looksie and some feedback, so the gems aren't missed. People even hopefully would be proud of their neighborhoods and try to get topics created there to pop, which is like free editing.

It would be nice, I think.

There's not enough sharp people on this forum, that is, enough to maintain a decent degree of momentum in the conversation till you get a response to your post.

This place appeals to a different caliber of poster to sustain your model.

Its a relief when somebody else runs with it....keeps me from making more of a fool of myself. Many people here are very talented at thread generation and persistence.

That sounds really interesting. The dynamics of it could make for some really good groups of like minded people. Nothing sucks worse than putting a ton of work into a post and having it drop off into no man's land.

Sometimes you got to rattle peoples cages to wake them the fuck up. Say it with passion, like you really care, to hell with the politicking. You'll burn your message into their mind and it can be difficult to shake.

The point of a conversation is to lead to a realization, a revelation, a truth. Stop mincing words.

Yes! Been a GLP surfer since late 2007. Since that time, I've taken acting classes. Who would've thunk something so frivolous and "vein" (can be) can teach something so profound, and that is....to put yourself out there and not give a ferk what anyone thinks about you. Follow your intuition. if you feel drawn to create a thread, create it. You will fail. You will look stupid. You will succeed. BUT.... There is that select group of audience that YOU ALONE are meant to influence through the least of avenues. You are yourself, and you can only be yourself, and you are beautiful. Never take into consideration the opinion of man or man's praise when following your gut. Never whore yourself out to anyone.

I've been thinking like this lately. I published my first book a couple of weeks ago. There has not been a single buyer, not one copy sold. But, I've been thinking, I'm still going to complete the series, and after that write more books. Because that's what I want to do.

I know there are some topics I could write that would get sales, but I want to write my book. Someone will like it. I like it when I read it. If it turns out I'm the only one in the world that appreciates my book, well then at least I recorded it in a nice form that I can view later.

Well, take the opportunity to plug it, what is the book called?

This kinda has some truth to it. Gotta dumb it down for the masses. Then again, you could GAF, bc there are those people out there that will get it.

Bc, see, the whole dumbed-down card, bad spelling. etc. has been played, and now that it's being talked about, it's on the consciousness' realm, and you can now expect the opposite to entice. Congratulations, MS. What an accomplishment! I am so proud of you! I'm gonna post a Pacino vid that I hope embeds properly. I think you would find it right up your alley. So the story goes, Pacino was auditioning for the Godfather p 2, and he went in for the screen test/audition, and the execs hated him. He got the feedback and knew this, and yet he went in again for another audition and didn't change a thing in his delivery. He was like, this is who I am, my artistic expression. If you don't like it or don't want me, fuck it, I'm not changing who I am., take it or leave it, but I'm not conforming to what you think I should be.
