O.o Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26592131 Yes, my neighbor who I paid and the dog went to my daughters. We looked after my neighbors dog for 4 months too while he and his wife were in the Cook Islands. He felt sick to hearing Candle died, he said she was fine while we were gone and she was fine on Friday when we got home!!!! Ask Nutmeg, a member here that phoned me then on my birthday, all was GREAT! I LOVE my pets and treat them like gold. I feel guilty enough, don't go there, NO neglect was happening. . |

We had a great day together as a family till Saturday morning. :( Quoting: >>Kate<< Charlie woke me up kinda crying at around 8 AM, he was making weird sounds, snorting and crying in my face by my bed. I got up and walked around my bed and found my 21 year old cat dead. :( I know she died of old age, her heart probably stopped, but what is bothering me most is where I found her. It's like she was trying to get to me. And I feel worse because I heard nothing and I was away during her last week of her life. I'm just like I said feeling a bit guilty. RIP "Candle" sweet heart. We buried her in the back yard Saturday. I was so glad all our kids were home. She was our first family pet. :( . I empathies with you, my cat of 18 died April 12 last month. I was with him tell his last breath, very sad. INFJ; We are the protectors. |

And it's natural to feel guilty but honestly from an objective third party (me) there's no doubt you gave that cat 21 years, which puts her in the top, what, 0.1% of all cats? She had a wonderful life. You will grieve and feel sad. I still miss my cat who died March of 2013. But eventually we start to focus more on the happy memories. Go through and collect all your old photos and videos of her, especially when the kids were young. That would be fun for the whole family. BTW who is Charlie? My AV is Charlie, our dog. They were best buds! He is not eating since Saturday too. He even turned down a hamburger tonight. He's definitely sad too. Maybe Charlie watched over her? I'm glad your family was with you. So hard to lose a beloved pet. My condolences to you and yours. |

Harley Chunnam User ID: 48107121 United Arab Emirates 05/20/2014 03:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm sorry OP. :( but I have another way of looking at this. your pet was trying to get to you because of the love and trust you nurtured. This was an act of love. Don't feel guilty, please understand how wonderful you made that pet's life and she was clearly displaying that in her last movements. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52626775 You did a good thing, but being kind and loving her so much. That final act is just a testament to that. Glad you gave her a good home all those years. :) ^This^ She was probably coming to say goodbye and this is why you found her where you did. Cats typically will take themselves off and hide when they are sick, injured or know that something isn't quite right. You are fortunate that Candle wanted to be near you in her last moments, and I would consider it an honour. She clearly loved you. I have 2 cats of my own at present, and as a family we have always had at least 2 kitties running around the house, so I can totally empathise with you when you lose a member of your furry family. But, chin-up Kate, it is hard to deal with, but just know that you had a good life together and she obviously thought very highly of "the larger weird-looking cat with the nice food" (apparently that's how our kitties see us). :) :hugs: "...too weird to live, and too rare to die." Btw, I just killed this thread. |
