OK..... :)

Thanks to new collaboration and a new group I developed, here are our first collaborative reports. :)

Some of these Headings are not new news... but the researching of the evidence is... enjoy :)

Like the Cochrane Global Health Research committee, of which I still sometimes work with, we've started looking at the largest Global considerations first.

Half-life: 30.17 years
External exposure to large amounts of Cs-137 can cause burns, acute radiation sickness, and even death. Exposure to Cs-137 can increase the risk for cancer because of exposure to high-energy gamma radiation. Internal exposure to Cs-137, through ingestion or inhalation, allows the radioactive material to be distributed in the soft tissues, especially muscle tissue, exposing these tissues to the beta particles and gamma radiation and increasing cancer risk.

WHAT LEVEL OF RISK ARE YOU WILLING TO TAKE?
take it on faith, eat as much as you like, roll the dice.

Caesium-137 (137
55Cs, Cs-137), cesium-137, or radiocaesium, is a radioactive isotope of caesium which is formed as one of the more common fission products by the nuclear fission of uranium-235 and other fissionable isotopes in nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons. It is among the most problematic of the short-to-medium-lifetime fission products because it easily moves and spreads in nature due to the high water solubility of caesium's most common chemical compounds, which are salts.

Small amounts of caesium-134 and caesium-137 were released into the environment during nearly all nuclear weapon tests and some nuclear accidents, most notably the Goiânia accident, the Chernobyl disaster and the Fukushima Daiichi disaster.

EPA Raised levels of 'safe levels' of radiation exposure!!!!

[link to reason.com]

[SNIP]

The EPA is raising the radiation threat level by a factor of 350. That may sound unbelievable but it is assuredly a good thing: The previous limits were far lower than science justified and caused hundreds of billions of dollars of economic loss to America and the world.

The trigger for the change was the government recognizing the ramifications of two things. The first is the reality of nuclear terrorism. The Government Accounting Office (GAO) has recently insisted that the EPA establish realistic limits in accordance with the latest science. Under the old limits, a tiny “dirty bomb” explosion in an American city would have meant evacuating hundreds of thousands of people.

The second is Fukushima. After the catastrophic meltdown at the Japanese nuclear power plant in 2011, some 130,000 people were forcibly removed from their homes in accordance with strict radiation standards. This resulted in the unnecessary and unfortunate deaths of some 1600 elderly and ill persons. Yet no residents died—or even became ill—from the radiation. Even so, Japan closed down 48 nuclear plants and Germany announced it would close all of its plants. The cost to their citizenry in higher electricity prices—and higher carbon emissions—is staggering.

The cost to U.S. citizens is staggering as well. Ultra-low limits have delayed and prevented the construction of new nuclear power plants, added billions to the cost of refurbishing old reactors and Superfund clean-up sites, scared Nevada residents into opposing the opening of the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage facilities, and triggered panic whenever there has been a slight increase in radiation almost anywhere for any reason. One remembers the Three Mile Island nuclear leaks, where residents were exposed to less radiation than they got from the granite building blocks at the Senate hearing room when they testified.

Workers at the crippled power plant Fukushima Daichi are taking extra measures to avoid the spread of radioactive water. Pumps surrounding the site are being used to pump rain water near containment vessels to avoid the spread of any rain water from flowing in to the ocean.

Cranes used to clean up debris in the area are also being weighed down in the high winds. Max winds are the area are expected around 35-30kts.

SNIP

On 7/11/2014, Tepco announced the coolant system of SFP 6 (Reactor 6 spent fuel pool) was temporarily suspended for a technical problem too.

Reactor 6 was in the process to move all the fuel assemblies from the reactor to SFP 6 in order to centralize the fuels to cool down.

The cause of suspension was water leakage from a valve again.
