If there is nothing that can be done...why worry people? I care, but what can I do? What can you do...except bring others into our misery? They'll find out when they find out...nothing will stop that...then they will care...but it is already too late...

No one wants to face a soon to be fatal, unsolvable problem head on...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58590082

That's a preposterous statement.... If I had said that at the outset i would call myself an epic fail..... yes... we may be able to do little.... but what little we can do is keep informing as best we can.... google my site.. it's front page google for nearly 3 years... if there was no interest that wouldn't be the case now would it... keep your head in the sand, smile and think you are safe.. the japanese bullshit has you beat....
 Quoting: Citizenperth

What have you done...except scare more people? How does that help anyone? If you were leading calls to storm Tepco or GE headquarters...maybe we would have revenge...that that's all there is for us...at best revenge...for there is no salvation from this.

You misunderstand. I know this is bad. ELE bad, probably. There is nothing anyone can do about it. Telling everyone they are gonna die is pointless...we were all gonna die anyway or something else...

Cry out, Cassandra, cry out...if you must...but...if nothing can be done...what's the point again?

I'm not sticking my head in the sand. I read all your threads about the crisis...but there are no answers...just crisis...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58590082

There are answers, nobody wants to stand up and yell at the top of their lungs and look like chicken little when all the people look at the lone little alarm bell ringer.
But to be passive, isn't the answer either…..that is what our parents generation have done, we inherited their mess, our children will need to figure it out… Edison invented the light bulb by trying new things, always trying.

The crisis demands action, of some sort…..
what action? anything is better than nothing.

stay safe
 Quoting: Chugiakian

What answers? We have, what over a thousand NPPs all over the world...each one built to last about 25 years...most going on 50 years of operation...with no way to ever get rid of the waste...

This is just the beginning. Our death warrants were signed back in the 50's when they started building these things. Then was the time for action. I mean what kind of imbecile okays a project that will produce waste that has to be cooled or stored safely for thousands of years?

WIPP probably already killed half the population of New Mexico and surrounding areas...they just don't know it yet.

There is no tech to stop melted corium melting into the earth...sooner or later...you're going to get massive hydrovolcanism or corium-magma coming our somewhere...

Nuclear power is our doom. GE has killed us.

Talking about something is not the same as taking action.

As for CP's mustard gas...sure people talking about it got it banned from warefare...but this is different...it's not like we can just dump the nukes and simply forget about them...we use them for war and peace...

Talk all you want. Nothing changes. We all die.

Edison didn't solve all our problems. In fact, life went on without problems before the light bulb (we used candles and oil lamps and daylight)...nobody missed what they didn't have...there is a difference.
