What will happen to the coastal areas on the Gulf of Mexico? Is it possible it could spawn tsunamis? And could a quake of that magnitude set off smaller fault lines further east? West?

If anyone know of anyone that has done some research of this, made prediction maps, etc., let me know.

WTF does the New Madrid area have to do with today's lack of quality in Nashville? I'm pretty sure most of today's trash doesn't have any connection to Missouri or Kentucky.
Anyway, if New Madrid blows, we lose Memphis which has gone to shit in recent years...

As a result of losing Memphis, we could have two polarizing effects: a drop in annual crime rate because of losing Memphis or a rise in annual crime rate because of losing Memphis. It's a 'lose-lose', 'win-win' situation on both sides.
Let's not forget about our agricultural exports, the Corn Belt lies just above the fault line stretching from Missouri to Indiana. Tobacco, wheat (this one was an uneducated guess) sales could go down drastically too. And if we lose the Heartland, we lose America.
