Full 140 page manifesto of Elliot Rodger "My Twisted World"

He lacked empathy, therefore he may have been a psychopath. Are we even sure he has aspergers? I read much of that manifesto and if he was diagnosed at an early age then why was it not mentioned. I got to about age 9 in the manifesto then I started skimming. These are Hollywood parents living in Lala land. A place where the wealthy a given a free pass, would a psychologist say Aspergers vs. psychopath to make it sound better?

Actually, many traits of sociopathy (known to many as psychopathy) are highly similar to traits of aspergers, enough that many people get the two confused. Sociopaths also express that they are unable to empathize and connect with people - this often makes their symptoms echo that of autism/aspergers, although sociopathy and aspergers are entirely different.

BTW- I do wonder if he could have "preformed" had he actually found a hot blonde to sleep with him.

Congratulations to you. I sincerely am glad that you overcame all your obstacles and triumphed. He did wallow, he was also condescending and a materialistic little prick. I think his step mother saw him truly how he was and what he was. She refused to cater to him. She was correct that he should knock on the front door but this kids was used to him getting to do as he wanted. The step mom is lucky to be alive.

Thank you to those who are specifying that Asperger's and sociopathy are unrelated.

But are they functionally any different? Near as I can tell, the difference is that sociopaths are better at learning social skills.

I've dealt with a narcissist and this was something more. yeah he had traits but there was something more. I can't think of the words to describe it. Did you watch his film? That laugh...

Yes, sociopaths can teach themselves how to mimic empathetic functioning. They are also perfectly capable of understanding that they cause harm to others, but they experience no guilt whatsoever about said suffering. Guilt is something that as well as doesn't exist for them. They are highly narcissistic, the world is about them and what they deserve. The only "real" emotion they tend to experience is anger. Their "love" is based on what they want to possess, in a Trophy sort of fashion.

On the other hand, there is no malicious intent in the expression of Asberger traits. Those with aspergers are not typically able to create a working model of other people's emotions or intentions. They would be highly unlikely to carry out a premeditated murder precisely because they lack that capacity to functionally hate a person the way a sociopath can, or to desire and covet the status of another person or what they possess.

In the mind of someone with aspergers, the cognition of "other" mind just doesn't really exist in the same sense, so yes, they are quite different disorders.

Sociopathy also tends to manifest as antisocial behavior (ie, killing, white collar crime, thievery, rape, etc) more often because it dispenses with guilt. Aspergers is not like this.

Thanks, that makes sense and jibes with my own experiences. I'd much rather deal with an aspie than a sociopath. At least I can tell right off that the aspie doesn't give a fuck about me and act accordingly.

The video of Elliot in the car is badly recited. The 'signal' was far too obvious and unnatural - when he makes out the shape of a triangle with his eyes (up, right, left, back to center) near the end of the video to show who's behind this thing.

The first photo Daily Mail decides to publish of one of the victims... She is flashing / saluting the camera with a fucking triangle sign.

First interview clip with the pretty blonde girl... She breaks down in false sobbing then stops and says, "then he, like, shot". Total anticlimax.

Isn't it funny how so many people are being forced ("news doesn't lie") to think this fantasy is real? Is that not the definition of madness?

I don't believe much of what MSM reports.

But it's kind of hard to believe someone falsified all 141 pages of very accurately reported teenage angst.

Plus, he got all the details right, as far as living in the area he claims to have lived.

It would be extremely difficult to make up a manifesto like that and pass it off as true to the trained eye.

I really don't think it happened that way, and I am conspiratorial.

ROFL I don't think so though, he seemed quite a shallow kid. I mean he used all of this grandiose language but deep down he seemed quite ignorant, he didn't have much depth to himself. COming to glp inevitably you get some knowledge about metaphysics and other things that make you a bit more deep than this guy was. I think the problem is that he never got any wisdom beyond his videogames and his wealthy school education. You need something more to make it in life.

Oh and to that person who said I was wrong in saying he would have liked Marx, this guy had all the traits for a socialist dictator, he wanted to centrally plan everyone's lives and have his army of thugs enforce his laws. I read what you wrote that if you had crossed his life he wouldn't have ended like that, I would say the same. I think I could have rehabilitated that kid. I actually have helped save a suicidal friend of mine and got him out of the states, he's now in Scotland doing much better. Sometimes people only need someone to care for them and guide them. Give them some kind of framework and perspective, this kid got none of that.

Also America can be quite destructive for certain people. More so when growing up.

I just finished reading the manifesto, holy crap was this man demented. He figured the entire world revolved around him. He was definitely mentally warped from the beginning. I couldn't help not feeling a little sorry for him, he needed Jesus, I think everyone needs some religion form in their life to ground them. JMHO

I wonder why it ends at pg 137 when it says to 141. Are pages missing at the end?
