Right-wing pundits in Internet ratings freefall. Even Faux News is down 13 percent - according to IPD Group and U.S. Politics Today.
RAW STORY
Published: Friday June 30, 2006

Many well-known right-wing media figures -- including Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly -- are losing their Internet audiences, according to an analysis of Web site ratings by IPD Group and U.S. Politics Today.

On the other hand, traffic for Moveon.org has risen.

On Thursday, Shakespeare's Sister [link to shakespearessister.blogspot.com] checked other sites from the right and left at the same tracking service, Alexa.com, used in the analysis.

According to the blogger, Free Republic, Hugh Hewitt, World Net Daily, and Pajamas Media have all suffered at least a 19 percent decline, while the traffic at Raw Story, Crooks and Liars, and Think Progress has risen.

A release issued by IPD Group reads:
#

An odd thing seems to have happened to mighty right-wing talking head media juggernaut. They are still talking, but fewer people seem to be listening -- at least on the Internet.

Alexa.com -- [link to alexa.com] -- which is owned and operated by Amazon.com, tracks online usage for all Web sites, large and small. At Alexa.com, you can check a site's activity up to the minute, or follow its trail back for many years.

At U.S. Politics Today, we thought it might be interesting to see how the right-wing media machine was doing. Not well, it turns out.

During the past three months, for instance, [link to rushlimbaugh.com] traffic ranking has declined 18 percent. He still huffs and puffs away daily on radio, but advertisers might want to double check the size of his audience. If the bottom has dropped out on him online, it likely has had a similar trend line with his radio show.

Even Fox News, that gold standard of right-wing media, is down 13 percent. Here are the numbers: [link to www.alexa.com]

Ann Coulter is coining money by attacking widows and orphans -- a new game for her since she's run out of Democrats, living and dead, to defame and verbally pillage. You would think with all of the attention the promotion of her new book has given her would raise visitor numbers at her Web site, [link to anncoulter.com.] Nope. Traffic there is down 10 percent.

The audience chart reversal seems to be common across the entire right-wing side of the Internet viewing board. Billoreilly.com -- [link to billoreilly.com] -- has dropped 40 percent in the past three months. Townhall.com -- [link to townhall.com] -- that once popular center for right-wing news and commentary, has fallen by 24 percent. The Washington Times Web site is down by 27 percent. And Matt Drudge, once the hottest right-wing name in Internet sites? Alexa.com says [link to drudgereport.com] is down 21 percent.

Could it be that Internet users are getting tired of political sites in general? Maybe so. But [link to moveon.org] is up 13 percent in the same period.

President Bush's fall from grace has been well documented by poll-after-poll. The unpopularity of Congress may not be at historic lows, but those 20-something level of support numbers can't be comforting to those who manage things on Capitol Hill.

It seems logical that with enthusiasm draining from the right- wing movement that put the president and the current Congress in place, the media chorus that has lavished praise on them all these many years would be affected by the change in fortune.

And so it seems, looking at the Alexa.com numbers -- if they are to be believed. Those graph lines may not directly parallel the decline in GOP poll numbers, but they are all heading in the same direction -- down

No wonder they are preparing to control the net by giving the rights to pseudo-private companies.

So! We The People are finally turning a deaf ear to the talking heads. That is very good news.

Thank God for those voices who persistanly cried in a wilderness of lies to bring the truth to light.

Somehow this could be related, maybe people don't expect moral advices from the govt anymore after they saw what happened:

Americans growing less interested in government "promoting moral values"
by John in DC - 7/01/2006 11:19:00 AM

Big drop in ten years. From the National Journal:

Values: Legislating Morality
Another release from the Gallup poll on Americans' values reveals a divide about the role of government in modeling morality. When respondents were asked whether the federal government should "be involved in promoting moral values in our society," 48 percent said it should and 48 percent said it shouldn't.

Poll numbers from a decade ago -- May 1996, about six months before Bill Clinton won a second term in the White House -- show more of a desire for institutional participation. Six in 10 said the federal government should be involved in promoting moral values in our society, more than 10 points higher than the current survey. Thirty-eight percent said the government shouldn't be involved.

" Most of them are on vacation. Duuuh! "

What did they find out? During the last three months, AnnCoulter.com is down 10%. Fox News down 13%. RushLimbaugh.com down 18%. The Drudge Report down 21%. Townhall.com down 24%. Washington Times’ website down 27%. And BillOreilly.com down 40%.

So they are on vacation for the last three months, eh?

From the Shakespeare's Sister Blog:

Focus on the Family down 18%. Free Republic down 19%. Hugh Hewitt down 21%. World Net Daily down 23%. Michelle Malkin down 30%. The Weekly Standard down 37%. Pajamas Media down 39%.

Raw Story up 6%. Center for American Progress up 12%. Crooks and Liars up 17%. Think Progress up 41%.

I’ve no doubt I’ve forgotten some notable examples that might be exceptions to this trend (although I will assure you I did not find a single right-wing blog whose traffic went up that I deliberately left out), and regular old blogs all seem to be down a bit. Eschaton is down 16%. Daily Kos is down 10%. Shakes is down 8%. But even there, the right-wing blogs look to be doing worse. Little Green Footballs down 19%. Volokh Conspiracy down 28%. Powerline down 33%.

I think you will find that all news and opinion sites will lose alot of people over the next few years as the conciousness gets into full steam.

Mass telecommunications has effected the mind of man, previously we would wait weeks to hear of wars and never hear about sufferings of others in distant lands.

Today we hear and see all and we cannot cope because our technology has evolved too quickly. As the shift takes place more people realise this people will become more and more community focused and the World will be changed for the better by people being focused on and acting locally, Instead of being in a state of paralising negativity from being overextended emotionally.

This is not to say that we should not help others outside our local community, but we should realise the limitations of the human heart-mind.

Their lying and pathetic attempts to scare us are getting more and more apparent, as well as their perversions, that only they are allowed to commit, so they think.

When are they going to start spending millions to showcase Bush's affair with Rice.

These people are all child molestors, and embezzlers, and news shows can minimize that all they want, but they can't make it go away.

We know they are full of shit.

The stupidity and ignorance of people who parrot people like Rush "zero tolerance for all drug users but me" Limbaugh is so extreme it is almost surreal.

People who are that fucking dumb are the same kind of people who think Saddam Hussein was behind the 9/11 attacks.
