Seems to me that being given 'three days to comply' with something outrageously expensive, is totally unrealistic, and unfair. Not many folks could come up with that kind of money in three days, let alone get the work done, or the equipment bought and set up. Sounds to me like they are setting this up to fail from the get go. Which smacks of 'something else' going on.

I want them to come watch me handle my dogs! See how much they love their cable runs! I let them out in the morning and just walk to the leader and its like they are jostling to see who gets the best spot! No joke, i dont even have to call them to get on their leader chains, they do it willingly. The cables are about 7 to 8 ft off the ground wrapped around a tree at either end with that cable run through a scrap piece of garden hose, as not to harm the tree. ANd then a heavy duty pulley has a leader chain clipped to it, and the other end to another clip on the dogs collar.

I replace the pulleys about every six months, nothing last forever. But to have someone who doesnt know squat about the
breed tell me whats better for my dog, when i know for a fact it isnt, is infuriating. Especially when all they will say is they have no opinion! They just enforce "the law"!!

I could go on and on. Pretty soon they will tell me i have to have garages built for all of my cars, as to protect the view of the forest to passersby. Its fucking maddening!

Long runners are much better than a kenneled dog.My dog has a runner that goes fro the post of my house across a huge grassy yard to the tree at the end of my property.It also keeps people from tresspassing onto my property because hes there.Maybe someone wants to come in and snoop when your not home.People with deep pockets and pay off anyone.Do more research on who is behind this.

The town I live in here in East Texas outlawed pits and 'any dangerous breed' completely. i wish people would stop portraying Texas as some bastion of freedom, it's the most corrupt and fascist state in the entire country. Another technicality, in my state, maybe all?, when you have two laws that conflict, one law has to be changed. In general, NM seems to have some conflicting laws. For example, it says a dog should have adequate exercise area for it's size, breed, or whatever. Paraphrasing.

A lawyer would be your best bet if you choose to fight it, but you can probably save some money by looking up your laws and having them ready for him along with some ideas.

Well the day of encroachment has arrived for my wife and i. Ive been working alot on a couple of projects in town, and over the memorial weekend animal protection came out and served me the counties orange notice telling me i have 3 days to comply. I havent even been on GLP much because of my current work load, but i figured id post this and see if anyone could help.

I have 4 bull terriers, i live up in the mountains on two and a half acres of private property in the forest 25 miles from town. My dogs are on 70ft. long cable runs allowing them a 30ft wide span and about 80' length they can travel back and forth. WHen i get home my dogs are inside the house with me 2 at a time. They get alternated every night. And are moved to a different location so as not to get bored being confined to the same location. I have plenty of room. My dogs are friendly and ive been raising pits for more than thirty years now. Ive lived at this location for 7 years with my dogs on these trolly systems. Hardware gets replaced every six months to insure no escape.

Animal control is demanding that i remove the trolleys and have the dogs confined in a kennel, with a top on it! Because even the puppy at 7 months will clear a six ft fence. I love my dogs and so do all the nieces and nephews, they actually claim each of the dogs as their own...lol

I have three days to comply or i will have to surrender my family members. My dogs are like my family and out here where it would be at least a half hour before law enforcement could get here, the dogs have been great protectors and warning systems as well.

This is what i call over reaching government, i live on private property, WTF? I guess i need to downsize to min pins? I called my neighbor, hes a retired federal agent. He watches and feeds my dogs for me when im out on my work trips. He told me its getting crazy, that they are now telling everyone how many chickens and goats and horses your allowed to have.

I can not imagine confining my dogs in separate kennels so they can walk in their piss and shit all day, this is a fucking outrage. My oldest is six years old, and im guessing im just gonna have to surrender them. Three days, with me working isnt near enough time to change what ive been doing for a decade.

Yes and people need to understand that dogs can be aggressive and fight with eachother but not aggressive and fight with humans.Its kinda like kids fighting with their siblings but a child is not gonna hit or pull an adults hair like they would another child or sibling.Its dog behavior.
I have a 70 ib bulldog and two 5 pound chihuahas the Chihuahuas always fight with eachother and my bully is a big baby that wouldn't even hurt a fly.Stereo typing is annoying. Its funny because people walking by are scared of my bull but not the Chihuahuas. If they only knew them better.
