Joannie is in G-d's hands now so I will say a prayer for her and for her son. May he have the strength to get them both though this very difficult time.

Does he have a picture board or other means of non verbal communication?
Pictures of: water, food, unhappy face, happy face, toilet, all that? I'm sure our members with special needs children have them.
It makes it a lot easier if she can just point.

This is a wonderful idea. The easier you can make the situation the better. I hope that this idea can find it's way to Joannie's son.

DF HERE I have severe kidney pain, cant wait til monday to see dr . heavy meds now, hope i can wait til monday. OTHER WISE I AM FINE. Just barely can type with drugs im on, some will know who Iam. wish me luck. I need it.

So sorry to hear that but sending positive thoughts and yes BEST OF LUCK. Sounds like it might be best to hit the emergency room now and not wait until Monday.

It's as if I've become very remote and detached from words. I'm no longer fluent. I've forgotten how to do it. I can't do it automatically. I can't hear whether a word that I say has come out right or not. It's as if it's not me that's speaking, but some kind of inefficient proxy forming the words. It's like there is a time-delay between speaking and hearing your own words, or if you were speaking a language whose phonetics and semantics you don't properly know.

Joannie was nice enough to send me a PM right after her surgery, right after she had a stroke just to thank me for wishing her prayers. I hope she knows how we are praying for her.

I haven't read the thread yet...I've been avoiding it...but I guess it's time for me to get some support...
