I had no Idea I was that heavy. I had very high Liver enzymes, had to sleep with a Bipap and was diagnosed as being morbidly Obese. So with the Dr's help I started on my diet. All he did was scare the hell out of me and give me some diet pills to get me started. Quoting: Intruth So far I have lost 87 pounds (current weight is 261) and want to keep going. Im feeling like a new man! Just thought I'd share to show some that it can be done and its not really that hard. 100 pounds is now on my short term goal but I want to keep going past that. But when I was diagnosed with Celiacs had to do a lot of researching. Doing a modified Paleo diet is the best. Real and whole foods is the way to go. So many recipes on the internet. No more than 20 grams of fat a day. Lots of water and cardio. Lift light weights until muscle failure. Reapeat 4-5 times a week until completed. Quoting: FoG44 TERRIBLE ADVICE not bad advice, apart from the cardio and the fat in the diet and it should be times 12 not 11, 500-600 calories less than that every day, and up your protein intake so OP, if you're 348 pounds, eat NO MORE than 4176 - 600 = 3600 calories call it, rounded up. Or you could go a couple of hundred calories lower if you want, if you want the fat loss faster, but don't go much lower than that. Your body NEEDS energy in to maintain that bulk. You'll make your self ill if you go too low. NO NEED at all for cardio yet, especially at your weight. just concentrate on losing the fat, and it WILL drip off you if you follow this advice. you can do cardio when you don't have so much joint ruining weight on your body if you want. it IS NOT vital that you do cardio lift weights, 4-5 times a week as the AC said, and keep yourself well hydrated. i'm doing lifts of up to 70 pounds max. no need to go super heavy with them i have got myself down to 190 pounds from 220 doing this, and am looking good, but I want to lose another stone, and this is how i am going to do it. It goes MUCH slower though when you get down to my weight, but patience is the key. you should lose quite quickly at first. Don't forget to revise your calorie intake DOWN every so often too. Say every month or so. Not important to limit fat intake. It's the amount of calories that's important, not what they're made up of, despite what some bros might have you believe. Up your protein intake as well if you can, or have protein as a higher proportion of your intake if possible. That will encourage muscle growth, which will up your metabolism, burning even more fat off. Don't worry, you're not gonna pile muscle on doing this. Also, protein takes more energy to digest, which also aids in the fat burn. Good luck. This is VERY do-able. |

I still have around 11 pound to go to get to a 100 pound weight loss. Im feeling great now though. Getting there is so rewarding. Im much more active and am really enjoying being able to do so much more. I started this thread not to brag but to show it can be done and all the ways to do it and also to encourage people on their own weight loss journey. |

I lost weight fast on it, but I didn't change the way I ate, and when I stopped taking it, I gained weight really fast. Now I am having a hard time losing any weight. It sounds like you are eating better than I did though. I just wanted you to be aware that once you stop taking it, you really have to keep up on the diet and exercise. Good luck to you! The next time I saw the DR she gave me another month and said she would renew the scrip on a month to month basis. I got it renewed for the third time. I think this will be the last one though. I am well aware of coming off this diet only to gain it all back and then some. It was all my fault though. When you decide to loose it, you need to make a life long decision to keep it off and stay healthy. Always look to improve and get better. We just had company and ate Fajitas. I just stayed away from the tortillas and frijoles. There was plenty on the table to fill up on without the carbs. |

Fatties wont make it. eat only "clean" food... avoid eating anything with: fructose corn syrup----cokes, soda's most everything as this artificial flavoring added...AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE.. ANY OTHER artificial flavoring/dye added ...these TWO ingredients the LIVER CANNOT PROCESS, so they end up as FAT that never leaves your body.... EAT CLEAN....BROCCOLI, SQUASH, CARROTS, POTATOES, CAULIFLOWER....THESE VEGGIES DESTROY FAT TISSUE... google "eating clean" and follow the directions---you will lose the weight, simply by changing your eating bad habits |

But don't forget to eat once in a while lol:) And best advice I will tell you: Don't eat 3 times a day! Eat more times a day but less. Eat an apple and after an hour or two eat something else and so on. If you eat 3 times a day your stomach stretches too much and you will get hungry very fast. If you eat less but more often it's much more better! And don't forget to do some exercises. Good luck! |
