The larvae eat the flies. Quoting: NightWisp Cicada Killers do the same with cicadas. Ichneumann wasps lay the eggs in the living host. Wasps kill insect pests and also can pollinate flowers. Never really knew that. Very interesting. Was neat how the wasp arranged the fly just right so that he could zip right into his narrow holed nest.
