Yesterday, news broke that Russia was issuing notices to its citizens along the Ukraine Border, reminding them how to PREPARE FOR EVACUATION.

It struck me that governments do not provide such reminders unless they know there's a reason coming to remind people.

Here we are, just days later, Putin is calling an emergency session of the Russian State Duma (legislature) and word has it he will be making some ultimatum. Here we go.

Any ultimatum issued by Russia will NOT be obeyed. Russia then has two choices: foloow through on what it says, OR; make fools of themselves by doing nothing. We all know the latter will not happen.

Once Russia engages in overt military action, the West will have two choices: Respond militarily, or; make fools of themselves by doing nothing. While the latter is not outside the realm of possibility, there's another factor at work.

If the West does nothing, then the very tactics used by Russia inside Ukraine, can be duplicated inside other Western countries. One by one, they too, would fall. The West knows this.

The question then becomes, will the West step-up or lay down.

If the West steps-up, it is a major war in Europe --- again. Americans like me will be asked to send OUR family members into harms way to save Europe -- AGAIN. Maybe it's time we ask ourselves whether or not we owe anything to Europe which warrants us sending our family members to fight and die on their behalf again.
