That one was easy, just had to rod out the mainline. Was blocked by roots.

What'd you use? I cleaned drains for quite a few years, it's still a fun hobby.

Rented a sewer snake. Man It is kind of fun when it finally pops. I have an access in my yard to the mainline so I get to see it up close.

By the way what would you charge for a typical blockage from roots?

But wouldn't you assume that, if roots got inside the pipe from the outside, now the pipe would have holes in it?

The work their way into the seems of the pipes. They just kind of fit together, they aren't typically sealed.

Depends on what part of the country and the access. Cleanout in the yard, like two three hundred bucks. If I gotta get up on your roof and hit it through the vent stack, four to five.

Mind you, there's plenty that would do it for less, but they will tell you you need your whole lateral dug up and replaced for 2k+.
