I think that x class flare even if not squarely earth directed has some effects on earth.weather phenomenon as well as increased earth quake activity

X 1.5 from the same region...this sunspot group has been very active and produced several large CMEs on the farside in past week. It just came over the limb yesterday and is now turning towards Earth.

This, at least in my experience, is rare

Not even from the sunspot the x-flare warning was coming from.

if that was in 3 days time but an x40 we would be fooked...

but this isn't doom time just yet
