You do realize that having a fever is an immune response, right? Fevers can actually fight off a virus or bacteria before other symptoms appear. I personally avoid all fever reducers until the temp hits close to 105 for this reason.

If the military has successfully lengthened the latent period, which would be disirable for a bioweapon, the infected could be unaware they have a fever for a short time then carry the virus for 4 months, possibly being infectious in that asymptomatic interval. Spreading it far and wide
