It says a lot about MLS when USMNT almost beat Portugal with Ronaldo. Mind you USA first eleven are ALL MLS players except Tim Howard the goalie.

Yes! Historically world cups in America have been won by american teams and world cups in Europe have been won by europeans being the exceptions Korea and South Africa.

I think this is in part because internal and external factors like sea levels and climate that make havoc in the physical preparation of the european teams more used to cold.
